About the role

In this internship, you will be part of the VAT team, within our Finance organization. Our purpose is to ensure VAT compliance and support the business in navigating indirect tax requirements across multiple markets. During this internship, you will collaborate with Finance, Tax, and business teams and support VAT compliance, reporting, and process improvement initiatives in an international environment.

Your main responsibilities include:

Support the VAT team during a temporary period with day‑to‑day VAT compliance activities. Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, and EC Sales Lists (ESL). Help ensure all VAT filings are completed accurately and on time. Provide support in gathering and organizing documentation for audits and internal reviews. Contribute to maintaining the quality and consistency of VAT reporting. Assist the team during peak periods and help improve efficiency of recurring processes. Meet your future manager!

Are you curious about how tax regulations shape international business? Do you enjoy working with data, spotting details others might miss, and continuously expanding your knowledge?

As a VAT Intern, supporting VAT compliance and indirect tax processes will be second nature to you. You can analyze data, work efficiently with Excel (additionally, SAP knowledge is a plus), and contribute to accurate tax reporting, and have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a basic understanding of EU VAT principles. On top of that, you're a proactive and analytical problem-solver who's always looking for opportunities to learn and develop.

What you'll bring

Enrolled as a Bachelor's or Master's student in Tax Law, Fiscal Economics, Accounting, Finance, Tax specialization or a related field for the entire duration of the internship. Resident of the Netherlands with a valid BSN number. Non-EU citizens must have a valid Dutch residency permit. For non-EU citizens, your university must sign a three-party agreement with Danone. Available to start in October 2026 for a minimum of 6 months, 4-5 days per week. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Able to work from our Hoofddorp office at least 2 days per week.
