About the role
Confocal NL is growing fast, and we are looking for you as our new Sales Engineer. As a Sales Engineer, you are responsible for all sales activities in the appointed accounts, and you have to ensure the targets and business goals are achieved. As the Sales Engineer, you work directly with KOLs in the field of Microscopy imaging and distribution partners in the appointed territory. Activating and supporting the distribution partner is part of your role. You will provide market and commercial insights that shape the strategy, tactics, and prioritization. In this role, you work closely with the sales, service and marketing team to execute against the agreed strategic and commercial goals. You will also work closely with both external and internal stakeholders for an optimal commercial (market acceptance) and financial (volume and margin) result. The role reports directly to the Sales Manager and is a member of the commercial team. The tasks and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: • Execute daily sales and support activities, maximizing revenue opportunities. Utilize the CRM system to advance leads in our commercial pipeline. • Achieve primary and secondary targets. • Align internal and external stakeholders for customer demonstrations; when necessary or requested, perform (online) demos of our confocal microscopes. • Execute/support territory marketing and sales campaigns and develop territory strategy by improving presence and market share. • Travel internationally for customer visits, product demonstrations, and conferences.
The ideal candidate acts as an evangelist for low phototoxicity in live cell imaging, with a background in microscopy and imaging and/or other biologically relevant fields. You demonstrate strong communication skills, including effective listening, in both in-person and online interactions. You take a proactive, results-oriented approach and are driven by customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is also a collaborative and reliable team player.
What you'll bring
• PhD in a relevant field or Master’s degree with 3 years of working experience in the advanced microscopy industry. • Proven experience in microscopy-based imaging, preferably with high-end microscopy such as confocal or Super resolution. • A strong work ethic and self-motivation. • Strategic planning skills and excellent sales and negotiation skills. • A B driver’s license valid in the EU, or you are willing to acquire one in due time.
