About the role
THE POSITION As HR Business Partner for the QHSE and Procurement departments, you are the strategic HR advisor for managers and leadership teams. You translate business priorities into effective people solutions and ensure that HR contributes to achieving departmental objectives. Working closely with leaders, HR Advisors, HR Operations, and the HR Centers of Expertise, you advise on the full employee lifecycle and support organizational development, leadership, change management, talent development, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, and employee engagement. You challenge and coach managers, helping them make informed people decisions while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and HR standards. Through data-driven insights and a pragmatic approach, you contribute to continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness across both departments. Your workplace Your workplace is our office in Rotterdam, where the QHSE and Procurement teams are based. You will become part of the HR Partnering team, consisting of approximately 30 HR professionals supporting Van Oord's business units and supporting functions. You report to the HR Manager Operating Departments and work closely with department directors, managers, HR Advisors, HR Operations, and the HR Centers of Expertise. Together, you ensure an integrated HR approach that supports business priorities and creates an engaging employee experience. YOUR IMPACT As HR Business Partner, you play a key role in helping the QHSE and Procurement departments achieve their business objectives through people. You act as a trusted advisor to managers, translating business priorities into pragmatic HR solutions that strengthen leadership, talent and organizational performance. You drive the annual HR cycle, support organizational change, and coach managers on topics such as performance management, employee relations, workforce planning and talent development. By collaborating closely with HR Advisors, HR Operations and the HR Centers of Expertise, you ensure an integrated HR approach that delivers value to both the business and its employees. Using data-driven insights and your understanding of organizational dynamics, you identify opportunities for continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies and HR standards. About the company
You are a trusted HR partner who quickly builds strong relationships and understands the dynamics of an international organization. You know how to balance strategic thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on approach and are comfortable influencing stakeholders at different levels of the business. You bring: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an HR Business Partner within a complex, international organization. Experience supporting corporate or staff functions is an advantage. Strong coaching, stakeholder management and influencing skills. A proactive, resilient and solution-oriented mindset. Knowledge of Dutch employment legislation and HR best practices. Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
