This is a unique opportunity for a bright and driven Associate Scripting Specialist to be part of a growing organization. You will join our team and work closely with project teams to script and deliver high-quality surveys for market research projects. In this role, you will create and maintain accurate, engaging, and reliable survey scripts using a combination of scripting expertise, modern development tools, and AI-assisted solutions. While much of our survey scripting is currently delivered through Sawtooth software, we are increasingly leveraging AI-enabled tools and automation to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability. As a result, success in this role is less about mastering a single platform and more about understanding how to apply technology, solve problems, and continuously adopt new tools and ways of working. Specifically, you will be expected to: Script surveys in our dedicated software (Sawtooth software) and use HTML / CSS / JavaScript / Perl to improve survey layouts for higher respondent engagement Take ownership of scripting activities within project teams, including projects that use SKIM's proprietary solutions and advanced research methodologies. Perform thorough testing, validation and troubleshooting to ensure scripts, survey logic and outputs are accurate and error-free. Review, debug and validate code, whether written by yourself, colleagues or AI-assisted development tools, ensuring a strong understanding of what the code does before it is deployed. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide guidance on scripting best practices and solve technical challenges. Explore and adopt new tools, technologies and ways of working that can improve quality, efficiency and scalability. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by sharing ideas and helping the team implement new solutions. Qualifications The ideal candidate is determined, detail-oriented and enjoys solving technical problems. They are comfortable working in a dynamic environment, can manage competing priorities, and have a strong desire to continuously learn and develop. Typically, we are looking for someone with the following profile: 0-2 years of experience in scripting, programming, technical problem solving, or quantitative survey research. Relevant degree or diploma, preferably with programming courses (e.g. Informatics, Statistics, Marketing, Computer Science, DevOps). Proficient in web fundamentals like HTML, JavaScript, CSS and/or Perl, with strong debugging and troubleshooting skills Practical experience with, or a genuine appetite for, AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude) to script more efficiently, with the judgement to understand and verify what the code is doing before it goes live A proactive mindset, curious to explore new tools and ways of working, and confident sharing what you learn with the team Experience working with MS Office, especially Excel Knowledge or experience with market research is a plus Fluent communication skills in English, both in speech and writing A team player with a positive attitude Eligible to work in the Netherlands
