In relation to a maternity leave of a senior staff member in the Project Office, KIT has an open position for a project officer for the duration of one year (32-40 hours/week, start date preferred 1 st of November or earlier if possible). The Project Office department has the challenging task of managing acquisition processes and contract management for approximately 45 KIT experts, who carry out research for development projects in Sustainable Economic Development, Global Health, Gender and Education worldwide. What you'll do

Manage the acquisition process of projects through tender procedures; Screen the industry market for opportunities for KIT Institute; Assess the feasibility of tenders and advise team managers of the KIT Institute on this; Draft project budgets; Negotiate and draw up contracts and evaluate funding and partnership contracts; Function as point of contact for project managers, funders, partners and other internal and external stakeholders. Advise on budget and contract issues during implementation of projects. Monitor GDPR compliance and compliance with internal processes Keep internal systems up to date. About you Education/experience/skills: A university, or higher vocational, education in related fields i.e. Business Administration, Organizational Management, Economics, Law, or Management; Strong assessment skills; Experience in Business Development, donor regulations, grants and funding schemes (e.g. EU), including budgeting requirements; Excellent command, both written and spoken, of English, good working knowledge of Dutch. Preferably also French language skills; Personality : You: are a self-starter who can work independently and is willing to go the extra mile in acquisition trajectories have an entrepreneurial approach – you recognise opportunities and translate them into action are solution-oriented, especially when dealing with (donor) budget constraints are strong in process planning between different stakeholders in acquisition processes are strong in progress monitoring and you are meticulous have the ability to network effectively within professional environments; Other: You are residing in the Netherlands, or you have a work and residence permit for the Netherlands; Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience. Experience with institutional donors is a plus. What do we offer? A gross monthly salary starting from € 3.138, – to € 3.780, – based on experience for a 40-hour working week, 8% holiday pay and admission to the ABP pension fund foundation; One-year contract (extended maternity leave replacement); Approximately 25 annual vacation days plus 13 ADV days (when working full-time); A workplace in a historic building in the heart of Amsterdam, with the option of working max 50% of the time from home; Travel allowance; NS Business card, kilometre allowance or bicycle plan; Additional information KIT is undergoing significant organisational changes at the moment. The composition and tasks of the Project Office will be reviewed in the coming year. This may create new opportunities but also will require flexibility. Also, KIT is transitioning towards a culture where result orientation, initiative and ownership will become key values.
