About the company
As a ServiceNow CSDM Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, implementing, and governing the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) framework within our clients' ServiceNow environments — bringing structure, consistency, and clarity to how services, applications, and infrastructure are represented across the enterprise. You will be a valued member of our ServiceNow practice and work collaboratively with architects, ITOM specialists, ITSM process owners, and client stakeholders to ensure their ServiceNow platform is built on a strong, scalable, and future-proof data foundation.
In this role, you will:
Design and implement the CSDM framework across client ServiceNow instances — defining service models, establishing data taxonomies, and aligning technical and business services to the CSDM standard to enable accurate, reliable service visibility across the enterprise. Own and govern CMDB data quality — managing Configuration Items (CIs), performing reconciliation, monitoring CMDB health, and implementing data integrity controls to ensure the Configuration Management Database remains a trusted source of truth for ITSM, ITOM, and business decisions. Configure and optimise ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping — enabling automated population of the CMDB with accurate, up-to-date infrastructure data and establishing clear, maintainable application-to-infrastructure service maps aligned with the CSDM model. Drive CSDM adoption across client organisations — working hands-on with business stakeholders, process owners, and technical teams to embed CSDM governance practices, align existing data to the model, and resolve structural gaps or legacy technical debt within the CMDB. Integrate CSDM and CMDB data with downstream ServiceNow workflows — ensuring that ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem), ITOM capabilities, and reporting dashboards leverage accurate, CSDM-compliant service and CI data to drive measurable operational outcomes. Work Model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programs.
The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you're engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.
What You Need to Have to Be Considered Proven hands-on experience with ServiceNow CSDM — including design, implementation, and governance of the Common Service Data Model across enterprise ServiceNow environments, with a clear understanding of the CSDM layers (Foundation, Design, Sell/Consume, Manage Technical Services). Solid CMDB expertise — demonstrated experience managing CI lifecycles, performing CMDB health assessments, executing data reconciliation, and applying deduplication and normalisation strategies to maintain data integrity at scale. Experience with ServiceNow ITOM capabilities — specifically Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management — with the ability to configure and troubleshoot automated CI population and service dependency mapping. ServiceNow platform proficiency — including familiarity with core platform configuration, scripting (JavaScript / Glide Script), and integration patterns relevant to CSDM and CMDB workflows. Strong stakeholder communication skills — with the ability to translate complex data modelling and governance concepts into clear, actionable guidance for both technical teams and non-technical business audiences. These Will Help You Stand Out ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA), CIS-ITOM, CIS-ITSM, or a dedicated CSDM Micro-Certification, demonstrating validated platform knowledge and structured implementation capability. Experience in large-scale CMDB remediation or CSDM transformation programmes — particularly within complex, multi-tower enterprise environments with legacy data challenges and diverse CI sources. Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tooling — including experience defining CI ownership models, data stewardship roles, and CMDB governance processes aligned to ITIL or industry standards. Knowledge of ServiceNow HRSD, SecOps, or GRC modules and how CSDM-compliant service data can enhance risk visibility, compliance reporting, and security operations workflows. Consulting or professional services background — with experience delivering CSDM/CMDB workstreams within structured project methodologies (Agile, SAFe, or waterfall) and the ability to operate autonomously within client-facing engagements.
