What you'll do
As a Senior Associate / Portfolio Manager, you play a key role in the execution and monitoring of private equity fund investments within the European portfolio. You are responsible for driving defined diligence and monitoring workstreams, ensuring structured progression of investment processes and high-quality outputs that support investment decision-making. You contribute directly to the assessment of new investment opportunities through structured analysis, drafting, and coordination, and take ownership of defined workstreams from initiation through to decision. In parallel, you are actively involved in monitoring the existing portfolio, identifying key developments and supporting follow-up actions. You will join one of the largest and most influential private equity programs globally. The Fund Investments team works closely with colleagues in New York and Hong Kong, as well as with the broader Global Private Equity platform, including dedicated Co-Investments and Analytics teams. Within this setting, you will collaborate across shared workstreams and contribute directly to deal execution and portfolio management. Primary Responsibilities Translate market insights and GP coverage into actionable inputs for portfolio strategy and construction discussions. Lead and execute defined diligence and execution workstreams, ensuring structure, progress, and quality. Execute and drive monitoring of private equity fund investments, including identifying issues, structuring analysis, and supporting follow-up actions. Participate in external interactions with General Partners and other stakeholders, building confidence and capability in representing APG and contributing to investment discussions. Support development of junior team members while building own leadership skills. Job requirements As a member of the Fund Investments team, you are intellectually curious and eager to learn, have strong analytical / technical skills (including financial modelling), and are able to work productively both individually and within a team setting. You work in a structured way and have clear and effective communication and presentation skills. Additional requirements and competencies include: 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience in private equity, M&A, or a comparable institutional investment environment; Demonstrated experience in private equity fund evaluation, due diligence, and execution, with ownership of workstreams from start to completion. Candidates must clearly demonstrate this experience in their CV. Proven ability to drive diligence processes and progress
