About the role
The Director of Engineering leads a number of different teams in designing and delivering new and enhanced product features. They manage development projects from initial design through testing while providing strategic management direction to the entire department.
What you'll do
Direct and oversee software engineering activities in the development, release, and maintenance of full-stack SaaS applications in hosted environments.
Manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and provide technical leadership for multiple development teams
Recruit, manage, train and mentor your staff to be the best that they can be
Work with cross-functional teams to develop business and user requirements
Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architectural decisions
Move your teams toward the goals of higher autonomy, better quality, and optimal throughput.
What you'll bring
Qualifications
Entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated ability to achieve goals in an innovative, fast-paced environment
At least 5 years in a technical leadership role, and 10+ years developing production SaaS code for mission critical services
Ability to drive a culture of quality, personal accountability, and strong relationships with internal and external colleagues and clients
Expert in Agile & DevOps principles, and experience with an AI-driven SDLC.
Preferred experience with large connected devices and distributed systems
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science and/or Engineering
