What you'll do

Operational & Safety Leadership Lead and manage site operations for the Coating and Finishing units to achieve safe, reliable, and efficient production. Own and reinforce Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Employee Engagement (SQRE) strategies through daily leadership presence and walkthroughs. Ensure effective Conduct of Operations systems are in place to support flawless daily execution. Provide timely and thoughtful responses to operational escalations. People & Team Development Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, engineers, technicians, and operators to build strong bench strength and organizational capability. Act as a visible role model, fostering accountability, engagement, and a strong safety culture. Drive consistent use of the operating model across teams to improve performance and execution. Performance Management & Continuous Improvement Review daily KPIs, identify performance gaps, and assign problem-solving resources (PPR) to address issues. Drive proactive and consistent improvement initiatives across safety, quality, reliability, and cost. Identify opportunities for operational improvements and develop and implement recommendations. Planning, Resources & Systems Ensure availability of resources, raw materials, and supplies to support production plans. Translate unit strategy into executable operating plans, including progression of the Unit Technology Plan (UTP). Plan for emerging needs, non-routine activities, and operational changes. Lead and manage the site’s Operations Team (24/7 & Site Support Services) through people engagement, ownership of operations, and influence Owns operations outcomes in the areas of Stewardship, Quality, Reliability, People Engagement, Productivity, and Cost Control Acts as an coach and mentor to all site personnel Operations processes and principles Functions to include leading, planning, coordinating, people development, and team development in the framework of the Move to the Core Operating Model Monitors and drives site Stewardship, Quality, Reliability, and Engagement (SQRE) processes to achieve continuous improvement in flawless day execution. Active member of the site leadership team (SLT) Responsibilites: Act as backup Managing Director for Luxembourg production legal entity when Site Leader is away. Maintain a high integrity, safe, healthy and environmentally sound work environment.  Cultivate an organization that is naturally curious about Operational Learning.  Foster procedure and conduct of operations compliance through measure and high expectations. Ensure the safe production of consistently high quality material for all site manufacturing processes. Ensure timely completion of actions for learning events across all operations. Monitor and provide regular updates to key internal stakeholders regarding site performance. Lead from the front by spending time in field ensuring behaviors match expectations - producing operating model excellence, Safe Work Practice utilization/compliance, people engagement, & well-being of the site’s leader leader culture Maintain a well-trained, competent staff and administer appropriate policies and procedures. Sets priorities for the operations team and monitors team activities to enable them to remove barriers and resolve issues. Prepare and control annual operating budget – extensive input into annual capital plan. Coordinate with Mylar Business Team and Supply & Operating Plan (S&OP) Team Ensure effective processes and partnerships between Operations and Maintenance, Technical, S&OP, Capital, and Contractors Leads Stewardship programs and initiatives – active partner/collaborator with other SLT members, employees, and contractors Champions operational issue resolutions and stewardship improvement efforts Interfaces with regulatory agencies Assesses and develops operational strategies to ensure continued compliance, improvement, reasonableness, and practical execution Qualifications: Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Engineering (will consider experience in lieu of degree) Minimum 7 years of experience required in manufacturing Language Skills: Fluency in German and English is required; additional European languages are advantageous Strong technical and organizational skills Ability to analyze large amounts of data and identify areas for improvement Possesses the ability to quickly develop knowledge in unfamiliar situations, assess, and react History of leading people, quickly facilitating sustainable change, and developing other leaders Strong ethics and values, ability to make bold and courageous decisions Strong leadership competencies and ability to champion issues, ideas, and initiatives Highly effective communication skills Hold a management skillset that values building trusting relationships that deliver desired outcomes; highly collaborative in approach; empathic; self-aware Ability to lead influentially, high level of ownership, and an entrepreneurial spirit Apply: Apply for this job online Apply Share Refer this job to a friend Refer Sorry the Share function is not working properly at this moment.
