Role description: Arcadis is seeking a Process Engineer to support our client’s Large Molecule Drug Substance (LMDS) project in Wilson, NC. This role will support advanced engineering design, start-up, commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness for GMP large molecule biologics manufacturing facility systems and equipment. The successful candidate will provide integrated equipment, utility, facility, and process engineering expertise with an operational focus in support of technology transfer and manufacturing projects to ensure right-first-time execution and start-up. This position will coordinate with Manufacturing Technical Operations, engineering, quality, manufacturing, automation, validation, construction partners, A&E firms, and equipment vendors to deliver aligned technical solutions that support safe, compliant, and efficient biologics manufacturing operations. Role accountabilities: Deliver process systems through installation, start-up, commissioning, and qualification project lifecycle activities. Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support system design modifications to address evolving business and manufacturing needs. Serve as a process systems owner and subject matter expert for GMP large molecule biologics manufacturing systems and equipment. Support strategic CAPEX manufacturing projects from design through execution, start- up, and operational handover. Provide technical leadership for technology transfers, new technology development, and process-fit-to-plant activities. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, engineering, automation, validation, utilities, facilities, construction, and vendor teams to define project needs and priorities. Synthesize business needs, manufacturing requirements, engineering elements, and technology inputs into practical engineering solutions. Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, regulatory, quality, and project execution requirements. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline required. 8+ years of process/plant engineering experience in GMP manufacturing large molecule biologics facilities. Experience supporting greenfield or brownfield GMP manufacturing facility start-up, including process systems, automation, utilities, facilities, and operations. Process Engineer TSO826616NC Wilson, NC Strong technical background in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, biologics drug substance manufacturing, and GMP process system support. Experience leading or supporting multiple complex projects/programs simultaneously, including CAPEX execution and process improvements. Strong analytical, communication, leadership, collaboration, conflict management, and risk management skills. Ability to work onsite full-time in Wilson, NC. Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.

Nice to have

Experience in large molecule biologics, drug substance manufacturing, technology transfer, or process fit-to-plant activities. MS, MBA, Ph.D., PE certification, FPX certification, Six Sigma, or Lean experience preferred. Knowledge of process systems, automation, utilities, facilities, equipment vendors, A&E partners, and construction execution in GMP environments.
