Senior Decarbonization Consultant

The industry is accepting responsibility to cut greenhouse gas emissions that drive climate change. At the same time, energy supply uncertainties and fuel price volatility pose significant business challenges. The need to decarbonize and streamline operations is therefore more critical than ever. We support our clients by revealing insights into their operations to spot opportunities for energy savings. We achieve this through comprehensive data analysis. We present clients with options, including adjusted production processes, equipment modifications, or full equipment replacement. Furthermore, we also guide them in shifting towards renewable energy sources. We demonstrate both the financial and environmental consequences to our clients.

You operate at the intersection of industry and engineering, working closely with clients in complex industrial environments. You lead multidisciplinary projects with a team of specialists and collaborate effectively with other technical and commercial disciplines. You deliver feasibility studies and conceptual designs for energy systems. You advise industrial clients on energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainable generation. You always consider financial viability and business impact. You act as a team leader, reporting to your manager in the Netherlands, and are responsible for recruiting, guiding, and coaching new team members. You stay abreast of the latest technological and market developments and translate these into a clear vision and practical roadmaps for our industrial clients in both the short and long term. You identify and understand client needs, co-create solution directions with them, and translate these into concrete projects and proposals. You work confidently with data and analytics (including data quality checks and censoring), and you leverage these insights to strengthen project deliverables and recommendations. You advise stakeholders at different management levels through impactful presentations and clear, well-structured reports. You connect your own work seamlessly with other sustainability, process, and engineering disciplines to provide integrated solutions. You actively build, maintain, and expand your professional network and generate new assignments and opportunities from it.

As our new Senior Decarbonization Consultant, you will join the Energy & Process team at our Haskoning head office in South Jakarta, Indonesia. You will work closely with colleagues in both Indonesia and the Netherlands to deliver and support our projects. What you bring as a Senior Decarbonization Consultant You hold a technical university degree and demonstrate strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills. You have at least 10 years of experience in the industrial and energy sector, during which you have built a solid professional network, ideally on both the client and supplier sides. You possess broad knowledge of the operation of industrial energy and process installations, understand how to optimize them from an energy perspective, and know how to integrate new sustainable energy technologies. You combine this with a sound understanding of technology and (business) economics. Experience with sustainability certifications is an advantage. You have successfully started and grown a team or business. You are skilled at presenting and reporting, and you are convincing in terms of content. You are an independently operating consultant who can distinguish main issues from side issues, feels at home in an informal team environment, and can provide direction to colleagues. You enjoy working with young professionals in projects, and coaching comes naturally to you. You are able to independently manage the full commercial process with the customer. You are willing to travel occasionally. Your English language skills are excellent; fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is preferred.
