What you'll do
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enhancements for CTRM, retail pricing, risk management, and credit applications. Translate business requirements into technical designs, specifications, and development activities. Lead technical workstreams and provide guidance on architecture, design, and implementation. Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, analysts, and technology teams to deliver scalable solutions. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term corrective actions. Support application modernization efforts, including cloud adoption, DevOps automation, and CI/CD enhancements. Review vendor-delivered solutions and provide ongoing production support. Mentor junior team members and promote development best practices, code quality, and secure coding standards.
What you'll bring
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline; equivalent experience considered. 5+ years of enterprise application development, integration, or support experience. 5+ years supporting commodity trading, energy trading, retail pricing, or similar commercial systems. 2+ years leading technical projects, application support efforts, or delivery initiatives. Strong experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions. Strong understanding of incident, change, release, and production support processes. Technical Skills Preferred Development Technologies .NET / C# Java Angular REST APIs Integration Frameworks SQL Development Cloud & DevOps AWS Terraform Jenkins CI/CD Pipelines Release Management & Automation Tools Database Technologies Microsoft SQL Server Relational Database Design & Development CTRM / Energy Trading Platforms Experience with one or more of the following: RightAngle Endur Allegro Similar CTRM/ETRM Platforms Ideal Candidate 8-12+ years of overall software development experience. Deep understanding of commodity trading operations, including front, middle, and back-office processes. Experience balancing project delivery, production support, technical debt, and operational priorities. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to independently drive complex technical initiatives from design through deployment. Nice-to-Have Experience Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) environments Fuel, commodities, or energy markets Cloud modernization initiatives Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies Large-scale enterprise application support environments

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position. FDM is seeking a Sr. Dev Role, CTRM Apps located in Houston to support a project in the Oil & Gas sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended. This role will be in-person with requirements to be in office 5 days per week.
