Vacancy Hospitality Team Member Listen Kunstinstituut Melly is looking for an enthusiastic and service-minded Hospitality Team Member to strengthen our public-facing team. We are specifically looking for someone who is consistently available on Friday evenings and during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Our Hospitality team consists of motivated colleagues working at the front desk, on the exhibition floors, welcoming visitors as hosts, and supporting our in-house MELLY Bookshop & Cantina. Together, we create an inclusive, warm, and safe environment for everyone visiting our exhibitions and events. As a Hospitality Team Member, you contribute directly to ensuring a smooth daily operation and a great visitor experience. Depending on your strengths and interests, you may work at the reception desk, guide and inform visitors in our exhibition spaces, assist with hosting events, and/or help with service duties in the MELLY Bookshop & Cantina. The role includes • Welcoming visitors and offering a warm, inclusive, and helpful first impression; • Providing information about exhibitions, public programs, and the organization; • Supporting safety and accessibility in the public areas; • Assisting with opening/closing tasks and ensuring a clean, organized environment; • Supporting ticketing, sales, and basic administrative tasks at the front desk; • Hosting during events and public programs; • (When working in the Bookshop & Cantina) Serving coffee & beverages and selling merchandise and books; • Identifying and reporting technical or safety issues to the Coordinator; • Acting as an ambassador for Kunstinstituut Melly and its values You are • Hospitable, service-oriented, and enthusiastic about working with diverse audiences; • Responsible, punctual, and attentive to safety, cleanliness, and visitor needs; • Able to remain calm and friendly in busy or unexpected situations; • A team player who also works confidently independently; • Proactive, enterprising, and flexible; • Consistently available on Friday evenings and during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). This availability is an important requirement for the position; • Willing to work on public holidays if necessary; • Interested in visual arts, culture, or community-oriented institutions; • In possession of (or willing to obtain) a BHV certificate; • English-speaking; Dutch-speaking is a pro; • Living in Rotterdam or nearby. Experience in hospitality, customer service, front desk work, or event hosting is a plus, but above all, we value your attitude and willingness to learn.
