Lecturer Project Management and Transdisciplinary Design of Infrastructures Join TU Delft as a lecturer in project management and transdisciplinary design, bringing together different needs, interests and ideas of the many stakeholders involved in socio-technical projects.

Infrastructure projects shape our everyday lives. They provide mobility, water, energy and protection from flooding and support economic and societal development. At the same time, infrastructure projects are becoming increasingly complex due to the need to respond to challenges such as climate change, the energy transition, digitalisation, circularity and urbanisation. Their development involves many stakeholders with different interests, responsibilities and perspectives. How can infrastructure projects bring these different perspectives together? How can project teams understand and manage stakeholder interests? And how can project management and transdisciplinary design help stakeholders jointly frame problems, make choices and develop solutions? As a Lecturer, you will teach and supervise numerous Bachelor's and Master's students in project management, stakeholder management and integrated infrastructure design. Your contributions are mainly foreseen in the Minor Integral Infrastructure Design, the Master Construction Management and Engineering and the minor Project Management from Nano to Mega. A key responsibility will be to lead and further develop the Minor Project Management: From Nano to Mega. This is a popular TU Delft-wide minor that brings together students from different faculties and disciplines and introduces them to project management across very different types and scales of projects. You will coordinate the teaching team, work with academic and external contributors and ensure that the minor remains relevant, attractive and well connected to research and practice. As a coordinator, you are also involved in the integration course of this program and optionally, you bring experience in supporting its project finance course. Next to this, you will coordinate and give lectures in the MSc course R&D Methods for Construction and Management Engineering. In parallel, you will contribute to the ongoing delivery of MOOCs in the field of project management: an important contribution to the life-long learning strategy of TU Delft. Your home base will be the Integral Design and Management (IDM) section within the Department of Materials, Mechanics, Management & Design (3MD), Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences. Our research and education address the design, organisation, delivery and management of infrastructure across its life cycle. The section brings together expertise in projects & programmes, project leadership, construction informatics and systemic change & resilience. We value collaboration, openness and mutual support. To ensure educational quality, the new lecturer will be offered the opportunity to follow the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ) program or its condensed version (Supervision and Assessment Principles (SAP)).

You enjoy working with students, colleagues and stakeholders from different disciplines and backgrounds. You are interested in infrastructure challenges and comfortable working at the interface between engineering, management and society. Furthermore: You hold a PhD or equivalent in project management, construction management, civil engineering, systems engineering, engineering management or another relevant field. You bring relevant experience regarding topics such as stakeholder engagement, interdisciplinary design, team collaboration, project management and project finance. You are enthusiastic about education, have preferably experience teaching and supervising students and you have or are willing to obtain UTQ or its condensed version. You communicate and collaborate well in an international environment and have a good command of English. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.

Duration of contract is 2 years. Temporary. A job of 32-40 hours per week. A salary based on Scale 10 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a salary between €3706 - €5760 gross per month based on a fulltime contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
