About the role
As a Senior Portfolio Manager, you are responsible for the execution and monitoring of private equity fund investments in Europe. You play a central role in investment decision-making, from initial opportunity assessment through execution and long-term portfolio management. You are accountable for forming and driving investment views, including ownership of investment recommendations, decision-making processes, and outcomes. You work in a hands-on manner across all stages of the investment lifecycle, contributing directly to analysis, structuring, and execution. You represent APG externally in interactions with General Partners and industry stakeholders, while working closely with internal teams across regions and strategies. What you would do Define where and how capital is deployed through active market mapping, investment universe analysis and fund selection, while contributing directly to the underlying analysis and decision making. Lead and execute private equity fund investments end to end, including forming investment conviction, drafting and defending investment recommendations, and driving negotiations through to commitment. Actively manage and be accountable for APG’s private equity fund commitments through hands‑on monitoring, issue identification, and engagement with GPs. Represent APG externally and provide internal thought leadership by forming independent investment views and contributing to high-quality discussions with GPs, LP peers, and internal stakeholders. Develop investment capability and professional growth of team members through active coaching and direct involvement in deal execution and portfolio management.
What you'll bring
