About the role: We are looking for a passionate and motivated individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join the Carbon Trust as an Associate. As the successful candidate you will work in project teams delivering high quality, high impact advice to clients. You will have opportunities to work on an influential portfolio of EU and international projects. As an Associate your main responsibility will be to conduct data research and analysis, to interpret data and develop and communicate insights as part of a client project deliverable. You must be able to work well within a matrix team structure, be able to apply a high degree of independence and initiative in delivering high-quality work, and effectively communicate results to business leaders, alongside leading small and medium sized projects. Main duties and responsibilities: Project Managing small and medium sized project delivery for clients Conducting primary and secondary data collection through interviews and published research Developing and applying standards and frameworks for analysis and problem-solving Executing analytical tasks on projects, such as market analysis, business and financial analysis and data modelling  Communicating findings orally and in writing, presenting back to clients, producing PowerPoint slides Coaching and training junior colleagues on delivery methodologies Leading quality reviews for proposals and deliverables where appropriate Working across diverse advisory and audit/verification propositions   Contributing to business development efforts when required Key skills and experience we are looking for: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships and influence business decision-making, tailoring your approach depending on the seniority level of business contacts Commercial skills including specific experience in supporting or leading follow- on business development activity with existing customers in the Agriculture or Food and Drink sector Ability to work effectively with colleagues in a team environment, resilient and open to receiving feedback and take the lead with junior colleagues Ability to think and work independently, taking the initiative and ‘ownership’ of tasks Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work on multiple client projects across a given time period Demonstrable application of coding tools to solve complex calculations (MS excel, Python, Power BI, SQL, VBA, Java Script etc) Ability to work in a faced paced consultancy environment, independently managing multiple projects and priorities  Experience in pitching as part of a team for project work in a business development capacity Fluent spoken and written English (other languages are an advantage) Direct experience of working with corporate clients in a professional services or audit setting  Knowledge of carbon management, climate change and environmental sustainability is an advantage but not essential Degree educated or equivalent Salary & Benefits:  We offer a competitive salary and a performance-based annual bonus. Our hours are 37.5 per week with 25 days paid holiday plus public holidays, a generous pension scheme and travel allowance.
