About the role
RGP is seeking an experienced Interim Vice President of Revenue Cycle for a confidential healthcare organization in the greater Youngstown, Ohio area. This is a high-impact leadership engagement for a results-oriented executive with a proven ability to assess complex revenue cycle operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive measurable financial and operational outcomes. Reporting directly to the CFO, this leader will play a key role in strengthening revenue cycle performance, optimizing cash flow, and establishing a sustainable operating model for long-term success. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands-on execution and has a track record of delivering results in complex healthcare environments. This is a full-time, onsite consulting opportunity requiring a strong leadership presence and close collaboration with operational, financial, and clinical stakeholders. Compenstion: W-2 Hourly Rate $90 - $110 DOE Location: Onsite, 5 Days a week in greater Youngstown, Ohio area
What you'll do
Assess the current revenue cycle environment and develop a comprehensive 30/60/90-day action plan. Stabilize underperforming areas while identifying immediate opportunities to improve cash flow and operational performance. Build a long-term revenue cycle improvement roadmap focused on sustainable results and organizational accountability. Lead end-to-end revenue cycle strategy across patient access, authorization, charge capture, coding, billing, denials management, collections, reimbursement, revenue integrity, and patient financial services. Evaluate current operational processes and implement targeted improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and financial performance. Establish, monitor, and drive accountability around key performance indicators including cash collections, days in A/R, aged A/R, denial rates, clean claim rates, DNFB, charge lag, and cost to collect. Identify revenue leakage, reimbursement gaps, and performance challenges, and implement corrective action plans. Deliver executive-level reporting on performance trends, risks, root causes, and recommended actions. Assess workflow effectiveness, staffing structures, vendor relationships, and technology utilization to improve scalability and service delivery. Lead denial prevention initiatives and root-cause analysis efforts across payer, operational, and clinical workflows. Partner with executive leadership, finance, operations, and other stakeholders to align revenue cycle priorities with broader organizational objectives. Oversee payer performance, reimbursement optimization, underpayment recovery, and payment variance management Strengthen revenue integrity, charge capture, documentation practices, and internal controls while maintaining compliance with regulatory and payer requirements.
What you'll bring
15+ years of progressive revenue cycle leadership experience, including executive-level responsibility for complex healthcare organizations. Demonstrated success leading revenue cycle transformations, operational turnarounds, or performance improvement initiatives. Deep expertise across patient access, coding, billing, denials, collections, reimbursement, revenue integrity, and patient financial services. Proven ability to drive measurable improvements in cash collections, A/R performance, denial reduction, reimbursement outcomes, and operational efficiency. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a highly metric-driven leadership approach. Experience developing and implementing performance dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting frameworks. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across finance, operations, and executive leadership teams. Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer requirements, reimbursement methodologies, and healthcare revenue cycle regulations. Demonstrated success leading teams through change while establishing accountability and driving results. Experience evaluating and optimizing workflows, staffing models, technology platforms, and vendor performance. Experience with various hospital healthcare software vendors is a plus. Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred
