Open role
Senior Credit Risk Analyst
Lloyds Bank GmbH
About the role
Are you an experienced credit risk professional who enjoys combining credit risk expertise, regulatory challenges, data and project delivery? Would you like to help shape how Lloyds Bank prepares for increased ECB supervision while working closely with colleagues across Risk, Finance, IT and the business? As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst , you will join our Retail Credit Risk Analytics team and play an important role in some of the Bank’s key strategic and regulatory initiatives. Your focus will be on the Dutch mortgage portfolio, combining in-depth credit risk analysis with strong data capabilities and the ability to translate regulatory expectations into practical solutions. A significant part of your role will be supporting the ECB Readiness Programme, where you will take responsibility for and lead selected (sub-)workstreams. What you'll do
You will join the Retail Credit Risk Analytics team within Risk Management & Controlling, working in an international environment across the Netherlands and Germany. The role is preferably based in Amsterdam and combines independent analytical work with close collaboration across Risk and other functions. The team works in a hybrid environment, with regular office days in the comparable retail credit risk team.
It’s Wednesday, and we meet in the Amsterdam office today. You start the morning catching up with colleagues and reviewing progress on one of the ECB Readiness workstreams you are leading. The discussion moves quickly from regulatory requirements to data dependencies and the actions required to move the workstream forward. Later in the morning, you dive into portfolio and model data for Dutch mortgages. You investigate an issue, assess its potential credit risk impact and work with colleagues to determine the right solution. After lunch, you join a OneCredit discussion. Your role is to provide the credit risk perspective, challenge proposed solutions and help translate regulatory requirements into a workable future framework. You finish the day preparing a concise update for senior stakeholders, clearly setting out progress, key risks, dependencies and decisions required. Tomorrow may look completely different, which is exactly what makes the role interesting. What are we looking for? We are looking for someone who combines strong credit risk expertise with a genuine interest in data and regulatory change. You are comfortable taking ownership of complex topics and creating structure where the answer is not immediately obvious. You can move between detailed analysis and senior stakeholder discussions, and you are confident in constructively challenging proposals when needed. In particular, you will: Lead selected (sub-)workstreams within the ECB Readiness Programme , coordinating activities, dependencies and stakeholders and driving topics through to completion. Provide credit risk expertise and advice to the OneCredit project , supporting the development of robust future credit risk frameworks, standards and processes. Perform and oversee credit risk analysis for the Dutch mortgage portfolio , using data to identify risks, trends and areas requiring further investigation. Contribute expertise on IFRS 9 , preferably with practical experience relating to Dutch mortgages. Interpret ECB, EBA and other relevant regulatory expectations and translate these into practical implications for the Bank. Support the preparation for ECB supervisory engagement, reviews and inspections . Work with large and complex datasets and support the identification, analysis and resolution of data-quality issues. Provide clear, concise and evidence-based advice to senior stakeholders. Collaborate across Risk, Finance, IT, Data and business teams to drive sustainable solutions. You recognise yourself in this profile Experience and Skills Several years of relevant experience in credit risk, risk analytics, modelling or a closely related field. Strong knowledge of credit risk management and the relevant European regulatory framework. Experience working in or with an ECB-supervised bank, or direct experience with ECB supervisory activities, is strongly preferred. Strong analytical and data skills, with the ability to interrogate large datasets, identify issues and translate analysis into clear business conclusions. Experience with tools such as SQL, Python, SAS and/or Databricks is highly desirable. Comparable senior Amsterdam risk roles explicitly request Python, SAS, R, SQL, Databricks and Git. Experience with regulatory inspections or onsite inspections is a plus, consistent with the existing senior risk vacancy. Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex risk and data topics clearly. Hands-on, proactive and comfortable working independently in a changing environment. Excellent command of English; Dutch and/or German is an advantage.
