People & Culture Operations Advisor | 32 uur

Marie-Stella-Maris Water B.V.

About the role

Great work starts with people who feel supported.

A contract that’s right. A clear answer when you need one. A smooth first day and a salary you can count on. These everyday essentials shape how people experience work.

We’re looking for a People & Culture Operations Advisor who combines a sharp eye for detail with a warm, practical approach. You enjoy getting things right, understand what colleagues need and ask: how could we make this work better? From our boutiques to our Amsterdam headquarters, you’ll make a difference every day.

You’ll keep our daily People & Culture operations running accurately and on time. Contracts, employee data, payroll preparation, onboarding and practical advice are all part of your work. You’ll see the impact every day: a new colleague ready for their first day, a Boutique Manager who can move forward and an employee question properly resolved.

As we grow, you’ll help our operations grow with us. You bring structure, spot what needs attention and take initiative to improve it. Some processes are established; others need developing. You enjoy delivering accurate work today while helping make tomorrow’s work easier.

You’ll report to the People & Culture Director Operations & Advice and work closely with colleagues across Recruitment, Learning & Development, Workplace and Business Partnering. You’ll also collaborate with Finance, payroll partners and managers across HQ and Retail.

What you'll do

Be a trusted point of contact

Be a familiar, approachable face of P&C for colleagues and managers across our boutiques and HQ. Give clear, practical answers about contracts, employment conditions, leave and P&C processes, and follow up until questions are resolved.

Help (Boutique) Managers navigate everyday people matters independently, involving your director when specialist advice is needed.

Bring our culture to life through thoughtful service, clear expectations and doing what you promise.

Get the essentials right

Coordinate employee administration from joining to leaving, including contracts, changes, correspondence and accurate, complete employee records.

Keep our P&C systems up to date, check information carefully and handle personal data with discretion. Maintain documents, templates and practical guidance that are consistent and easy to use.

Prepare and check payroll input, including employee changes, hours, leave and expenses. Help review payroll output and follow through on discrepancies with colleagues and partners.

Coordinate absence administration and follow-up, monitoring deadlines and working with employees, managers and our occupational health provider.

Make the employee journey work

Take over from Recruitment once a candidate is hired, coordinating contracts, information and practical preparations before their first day.

Work with Learning & Development, Workplace and Managers to give new colleagues a well-organised and pleasant welcome.

Coordinate changes and departures with the same care, making sure everyone involved knows what needs to happen and when.

Build better ways of working

Spot recurring questions, errors and missing information. Use data and reporting to investigate their causes, prioritise follow-up and suggest improvements.

Think beyond an individual task and anticipate how changes affect systems, payroll, managers and employees.

Simplify, document and automate processes, using digital tools and AI thoughtfully and with care for employee data. Test new approaches with colleagues, check whether they work and refine them along the way.

As retail grows and we expand internationally, you’ll help strengthen and automate P&C operations while developing your expertise in advice, systems, payroll and process improvement. Your main focus is the Netherlands, with opportunities to explore employment practices abroad alongside local specialists.

What you bring

You take pride in work that is accurate, complete and on time. You check the details, ask questions and follow through. When priorities shift or a process breaks down, you stay practical, communicate clearly and know when to involve others. You enjoy both a carefully checked payroll cycle and finding a better way of working that saves everyone time.

We’re looking for:

Two to three years of relevant experience in People Operations, P&C support or a broad operational Advisory role.

Higher professional education level, gained through study or experience, preferably in Human Resource Management or a related field.

Practical knowledge of Dutch employment legislation and absence processes, including the Wet verbetering poortwachter. Familiarity with the Retail Non-Food collective labour agreement is a plus.

Experience with payroll preparation, employee administration and P&C systems.

Strong organisational and analytical skills, with confidence working in Excel and using employee data.

Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.

Experience in retail or a growing organisation is welcome. Above all, you want to deliver dependable work and take an active part in building what comes next.

What’s in it for you?

A role where your contribution is visible and valued. You’ll build relationships across the business, deepen your expertise and help shape a growing P&C function. There’s space to bring ideas, learn from colleagues and take on more responsibility as you develop.

Alongside a competitive salary, we offer:

25 holiday days based on full-time employment, two social responsibility days and your birthday off.

Workcation opportunities in line with our policy.

A pension contribution.

20% discount on Marie-Stella-Maris products

Refill products available at the office and in stores

Travel allowance.

A healthy office lunch.

A laptop and phone.

Let’s make everyday work better.

We’d love to hear from you. Apply with your CV and a short introduction telling us why this role feels like your next step.

We welcome people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. If you recognise yourself in this role, we encourage you to apply.
