About the role
Senior SEO Strategist – Digital Marketing
As a Senior SEO Strategist, you will own the SEO growth strategy and business performance for one or more Booking.com verticals, such as accommodation, flights, cars or attractions. You will combine deep technical SEO expertise with independent research, analysis and commercial thinking to identify opportunities, build business cases and shape a roadmap that other teams can deliver. This is a strategy-led individual contributor role: you will be the business’s primary SEO partner for your vertical, working closely with Product, Engineering, UX, SEO Operations, Editorial, Localisation and other stakeholders. You will also help the team navigate the changing search landscape, including AI-driven and answer-engine experiences.
What you'll do
Own and evolve the SEO strategy, roadmap and performance narrative for one or more Booking.com verticals.
Use data, research and experimentation to identify high-impact opportunities and recommend clear actions.
Build business cases and prioritise SEO, content, technical and product initiatives by impact, effort and risk.
Influence Product, Engineering, UX, SEO Operations, Editorial and Localisation partners to deliver outcomes through their roadmaps.
Act as the primary SEO contact for the owned vertical and communicate performance and priorities to stakeholders.
Translate complex analysis into practical recommendations, product requests and measurable plans.
Track search-industry and AI-driven search developments and adapt strategy to new growth opportunities.
What you'll bring
5+ years of SEO experience, including a strong technical SEO foundation and demonstrable strategic ownership.
Experience working client-side or in-house on a large-scale website, recognisable brand or complex digital ecosystem.
Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to connect SEO initiatives to business value and build persuasive business cases.
Strong stakeholder management, influencing and presentation skills across multicultural, cross-functional teams.
Experience working with Product Managers, Engineers and other technical partners to turn opportunities into delivery.
Ability to independently source and analyse data, identify opportunities and communicate complex findings clearly.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience; experience with data visualisation tools is expected. Knowledge of Hadoop/MySQL, international search engines or AI-driven search is a plus.
