City : Rotterdam State : Zuid-Holland (NL-ZH) Country : Netherlands (NL) Requisition Number: 46338 As a Junior Logistics Officer , you will support the coordination of transport flows across Europe within a dynamic Commercial Logistics team. You will help manage a very large network of carriers and contribute to the movement of an enormous amount of volume of liquid bulk all throughout Europe This role combines operational coordination, administration, and commercial interaction with carriers and traders. Whether you are starting your career or already have some experience in logistics , this position offers strong opportunities to learn, grow, and take ownership over time.
What you'll do
Operational & Administrative Manage and execute spot transport requests (short-term planning, e.g. next-week loadings) Maintain and update freight rates and lanes in the freight database Support transport forecasting and capacity planning Ensure accurate and timely administrative processing of logistics data Monitor transport flows and maintain data accuracy Carrier & Stakeholder Management (Commercial Focus) Communicate daily with transport providers across Europe Build and maintain long-term relationships with carriers Support the evaluation and comparison of freight quotations Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders such as Trade and Operations Development & Commercial Exposure Gradually take more ownership in carrier selection and rate discussions Travel within Europe (2–3 days per month on average) to visit carriers, build relationships, and secure the most competitive pricing Develop a strong understanding of the European transport market
What you'll bring
MBO+/HBO degree, preferably in Logistics or a related field 0–3 years of experience in logistics or a similar environment Fluent in English; an additional European language is an advantage Strong communication skills with a commercial mindset Structured, accurate, and detail-oriented Proactive and eager to learn or further develop
