Group Product Manager – Fraud Intelligence

Adyen N.V.

IND sponsorAmsterdam

About the role

Adyen is a full-stack payment processor and licensed global bank, serving millions of businesses and billions of shoppers. As we grow into banking, card issuing, and embedded finance, the stakes of who we let into our platform, and what they do once they’re here, keep rising. Fraud Intelligence protects Adyen from two kinds of bad actors: those who disguise who they are to gain access to the financial system, and those who set out to cause financial loss for Adyen or our customers. We’re looking for a Group Product Manager to lead a senior team of product managers across Identity Fraud & KYC, Commercial Risk, and Platform Fraud. You’ll work hand in hand with our global Compliance and Operations teams to build a data-driven defense, from onboarding through every transaction. This is not a standard product role. We need a biztech leader with strong technical instincts who runs the domain like a high-growth business. What You’ll Do Set the Vision: Own the strategy for how Adyen detects and stops identity fraud and platform fraud. Treat these capabilities like your own business, balancing customer value, revenue, and cost. Lead & Develop Senior Talent: Coach and grow a team of senior product managers who own their domains end to end. Partner Globally: Work closely with global Compliance and Operations teams to turn regulatory obligations into automated, auditable products. Bring a pragmatic commercial lens to how those obligations are met. Make the Hard Calls: Decide where ML and automation beat manual review, and drive alignment across Engineering, Commercial, Risk, and Operations without direct authority, even when that means saying “no”.

What you'll do

Drive Commercial Excellence: Formulate and execute a strategic vision that transforms risk mitigation into customer value. Treat these premium, paid capabilities like your own business, balancing pricing strategy, revenue drivers, and costs to ensure responsible growth. Lead & Develop Senior Talent: Direct, coach, and elevate a team of high-performing product managers within Adyen’s Commercial Risk & Platform Fraud group. Architect Smart Trade-offs: Simplify an ambiguous space by defining clear, actionable use cases with your engineering and partner teams. Strategically decide when to deploy automated technical solutions (such as AI/ML models) versus operational support to optimize merchant value. Pragmatic Regulatory Strategy: Act as the ultimate product authority for Commercial Risk & Platform Fraud across Adyen. Partner closely with Compliance, Regulatory, and Operations teams to design resilient, auditable capabilities, bringing a pragmatic commercial lens to regulatory interpretation rather than blindly following rigid frameworks. Lead Through Friction: Drive alignment and partner closely with Engineering, Commercial, Risk, and Operations teams without direct authority. Raise the bar for product clarity and prioritization discipline, making the tough, objective trade-offs necessary to unlock long-term value, even when it means saying "no" to specific groups.

What you'll bring

Product Leader: 8+ years in product management, including hands-on experience hiring and developing product managers. Commercially Minded: Analytical and metrics-driven, with the accountability of a P&L owner. Technically Fluent: A solid grasp of ML and data-driven products, and the confidence to work with engineers on petabyte-scale systems. Grounded in the Space: A working knowledge of fraud, KYC/KYB, or financial crime. Experience in fintech, payments, or regulated industries is a strong plus. Influential Communicator: Clear and confident with technical, commercial, and executive audiences worldwide. Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments Our unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity of backgrounds and cultures is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. Our business and technical challenges are unique, and we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours.
