About the role
We are looking for a Senior Legal Adviser to join our Employment, Pensions & Remuneration practice. This is a unique opportunity to support one of our firm's strategically important practice areas in a hands-on, commercially minded role. The position is designed for individuals who have experience working in legal services, whether currently practising or not, who combines expertise with a strong business development instinct and the drive to significantly contribute to the practice, including through the smart use of AI and legal technology.
The ideal candidate has recent experience working in legal services, who is well-versed in the practice area and who understands what matters to our clients. As a Senior Legal Adviser, your main responsibility will be developing and sharing your expertise with colleagues throughout the firm, as well as with our clients. In this role, you will play an important role in the business development efforts of our practice. Your responsibilities will include: Functioning as sparring partner to lawyers on employment law, pensions and remuneration matters Actively contributing to business development activities, including supporting pitches and client events Maintaining a knowledge base of precedents, drafting memoranda and developing templates, as well as assisting in the preparation of client presentations Staying current with rapid developments in employment, pensions and remuneration law and regulation, and, where appropriate, working alongside lawyers in matters Driving innovation in the Employment, Pensions & Remuneration practice and regularly sharing best practices among legal advisers Leveraging AI and legal technology tools to improve legal service delivery and operational efficiency Coaching and mentoring junior associates and legal advisers within the team We currently have two vacancies for the position of Legal Adviser within our practice group, one with a more Commercial / Pragmatic Profile and one with a more Academic Profile, who will collaborate closely, each bringing their distinct strengths to the practice group. You will also work closely with other legal advisers, who together form part of the broader Legal Operations department. Our Legal Operations department is responsible for optimising legal service delivery to our clients.
What you'll bring
The ideal candidate: Has at least 5 years of relevant experience as a lawyer or counsel, ideally with a focus on employment law, pensions and/or remuneration, and with experience in a larger law firm Has broad and up-to-date knowledge of Dutch employment law, pensions law and/or remuneration regulation Is motivated to contribute to business development and client relationship management Is innovative, self-starting, sociable and assertive in dealing with all levels of an organisation Is well-organised, hands-on and dedicated Has good writing skills, an excellent command of English, working knowledge of Dutch Is proficient in the use of IT and AI tools Has good communication skills and is a team player able to connect at all levels of the firm Is results-driven and commercially minded, with an eye for identifying opportunities for the practice We offer a part-time position of
