Financial accountant / Administrator (40 Hours) Home > Careers > Financial accountant / Administrator (40 Hours) We are looking for a hands-on Financial Accountant / Administrator to join our Finance team. This is a role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, and takes real ownership of their work. You will play a central role in keeping our general ledger accurate and our financial reporting and processes sharp, both for internal management and for group-level reporting.

The outline of this role is not set in stone and highly depends on the capabilities of the applicant and can be expanded upon based on interest. General ledger & reporting Take ownership of key areas of the GL, ensuring entries are accurate, complete and reported at the right level for management and group reporting. Work closely with the Financial Assistant and Financial Controller to align on month-end close activities and reporting timelines. Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support the production of timely and accurate financial statements. Business support Act as a responsive point of contact for finance-related queries from the business, helping the team reduce turnaround time on questions and requests. Translate financial data into clear, accessible information for non-finance stakeholders. Process & continuous Improvement Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and actively contribute ideas to improve them. Your input to improve is genuinely valued here. Support the build-out of scalable finance processes as the business grows. Support better integration between current systems (Exact, Lucanet, ABN & Pleo). Administration Maintain accurate financial records and support audit preparation. What we are looking for Minimum higher professional education (Univ. of Applied Sciences or equivalent). Candidates must have  residence in the Netherlands. Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes. Experience in or genuine enthusiasm for a start-up or scale-up environment. A proactive, ownership-driven mindset — you follow things through without being asked twice. Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work at pace. Good communication skills and confidence engaging with colleagues outside of Finance. Comfortable with accounting software and Excel; experience with relevant ERP tools is a plus. IFRS experience is a plus. Candidates must have residence in the Netherlands.

You’ll work closely with the financial controller, financial assistant and the business, contribute to continue building something from the ground up, and have real visibility into how the business performs.
