About the role
You work on large newbuild projects within the maritime sector; You oversee the preparation of functional and technical specifications based on design requirements; You acquire and evaluate technical information and documentation from suppliers, such as mechanical drawings, diagrams, calculations, electrical schematics, etc.; You supervise Mechanical Engineering: you manage engineers for basic engineering, while detailed engineering is outsourced to external parties.
What you'll bring
You have a BSc, MSc, or HBO level of education and thinking in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field; You have at least 10 years of work experience in shipbuilding or a similar sector; You have experience in drafting functional and technical design specifications; You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams and maintain contact with clients and subcontractors; You have a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written; You have an EU citizen.

This is a permanent position directly with our client. Our client designs, develops, and builds various ships used for a wide range of purposes within the maritime sector. The company has multiple locations in the Netherlands, operates internationally, and is among the top in the market. Worldwide, nearly 500 employees work for the company. The ships are designed, manufactured, tested, delivered to customers, and commissioned in-house.
