About the role
Fortaegis is a fast-scaling, highly ambitious and cutting-edge semiconductor company. We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Architect to define and drive the complete system architecture for our FPGA and SoC-based security and networking products. This role requires a holistic view across hardware, firmware, and software, translating product and customer requirements into scalable, high-performance, and secure architectures. You will work with cross-functional experts in a dynamic, innovative environment to shape breakthrough products.
What you'll do
Translate product and customer requirements into a holistic system architecture, covering board-level hardware, FPGA data and control planes, and embedded software stacks Determine hardware/software partitioning to optimize performance, latency, power, and security. Define major system interfaces including networking, memory, host interfaces, and control planes. Lead early-stage technical discussions and architecture reviews across hardware, FPGA, and software teams, securing cross-functional alignment. Provide architectural guidance during integration, validation, and performance testing. Integrate security-by-design principles, such as secure boot, hardware root of trust, key management, and encrypted communication paths. Produce clear architectural documentation, interface definitions, and system-level design descriptions.
What you'll bring
10+ years of experience in system architecture for embedded, network-centric, or security-focused products. Strong understanding of hardware/software integration, embedded systems, and co-design. Familiarity with FPGA, SoC, and optionally ASIC development. Experience with high-speed interfaces, firmware interaction, and embedded software stacks. Ability to think systemically rather than at a component level, balancing strategic vision with practical execution. Knowledge of secure system design, threat modeling, and secure communication architectures is a plus.
