About the role
ERIKS is undergoing significant transformation. The procurement organization is continuously evolving into a central, strategic function that plays a key role in driving growth, innovation, and business performance. To further support this development, ERIKS is looking for a Procurement Lead – Tools, Maintenance & Safety (TMS). In this role, you will be responsible for one of ERIKS’ most important product categories, with an annual purchasing spend of approximately €40 million . You will define the sourcing strategy, build strong supplier relationships, and work closely with Product Group Management on the further development of the product range, supplier portfolio, and private-label propositions. In addition, you will lead a team of (Lead) Buyers, playing a key role in their coaching, development, and the continued professionalization of the procurement function. This position offers the opportunity to make a visible impact within an international organization. You will contribute directly to commercial results, margin improvement, and the development of a future-proof product portfolio, sourcing strategies, supplier consolidation initiatives, and private-label strategies. A strong focus will be placed on supplier development and exploring new sourcing opportunities across Europe, Asia, and other international markets.
What you'll do
Category & Supplier Management Develop and implement the global sourcing strategy for the TMS category. Manage a category with an annual purchasing spend of approximately €40 million. Lead supplier consolidation initiatives to streamline and strengthen the supplier base. Develop and implement second-source strategies to improve supply security. Lead commercial negotiations with strategic suppliers across Europe and Asia. Drive improvements in supplier performance relating to quality, delivery reliability, service, capacity, and cost. Manage the phase-out of non-strategic suppliers and “tail spend” to increase focus on strategic supplier partnerships. Stakeholder Management Work closely with Product Group Management to align sourcing and assortment strategies. Support the transition towards a structured “push assortment” model, encouraging sales teams to utilize preferred suppliers and private-label solutions. Contribute to decisions regarding supplier selection, portfolio optimization, and private-label development. Collaborate intensively with the Product Group Lead and colleagues in Alkmaar and other ERIKS locations to jointly shape sourcing and assortment strategies. Together with the Product Group Lead, you will be responsible for achieving and improving margin performance. Team Management Lead, coach, and develop a team of Procurement Managers and Buyers. Build sourcing capabilities and contribute to the further professionalization of the procurement function. Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Develop team members with varying levels of procurement experience and maturity by strengthening professional procurement methodologies and elevating overall category management and execution capabilities. Additional Responsibilities Contribute to the broader Procurement transformation agenda within ERIKS. Deliver sourcing initiatives that result in measurable EBITDA improvements. Leverage technology, data analytics, and AI-driven insights to further enhance supplier management and procurement effectiveness. In this role, you will report to the Head of Procurement and be part of ERIKS’ global Procurement organization. Experience managing a supplier portfolio and sourcing activities in Asia. Completed NEVI procurement qualification. Demonstrated people management experience.
