About the role

You develop for multiple user groups the backends of our AI applications. Of course you also support end users and product owners in the best possible manner. And together with your team members you run, maintain and improve the applications in the teams’ portfolio. In collaboration with the other developers and the UX designer you’ll design, build and implement new backend components and update existing ones making sure that the frontend and the backend work together seamlessly. As a scrum team member you actively contribute to the self organisation of the team and you coach your colleagues if requested. Here's what we have to offer A gross monthly salary of € 4.131,- to € 5.516,- for a full-time contract (36 hours). End-of-year bonus of 3.4% of your gross annual salary and 8% holiday pay. You can do that within the Application Development and Management department, where you work together with 27 enthusiastic IT colleagues. What characterizes us? The diversity. Whenever possible, we use open source technology and make the software we develop available as open source as well. The product team you will be a member of consists of software developers and machine learning engineers. Your team is responsible for managing, maintaining, improving and renewing the applications in the teams’ portfolio. In addition, your team also works on new applications. You make sure that the applications are safe, stable, scalable and user-friendly and work closely with colleagues from other departments and internal and external stakeholders. What you bring to the table A collaborative attitude and an open mindset, allowing you to adapt smoothly when working with colleagues, developers to researchers. You are a good listener who can turn complex information into clear solutions. Not only by yourself, but also by supporting your teammates to help them find solutions. You stay calm when issues occur, analyse them, and always look for the best way forward for the whole team. Furthermore you have: Bachelor-level or Master-level in a relevant field, such as IT or Computer Science. Familiar with different programming paradigms: functional programming, object-oriented programming and low-level programming At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, with expert knowledge of our stack which includes Python (Flask), Postgres, REST/OpenAPI, Docker, SQL, bash and Linux. Experience with Agile working like Scrum or Kanban. Know how to work with - and setup - modern CI/CD workflows (GitHub/GitLab, Docker, Ansible, Terraform) and production systems. Experience with distributed systems e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, Cassandra would be useful.
