What you'll do
As a Civil Engineer with BIM expertise, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of our Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) projects. Working closely with project teams and under the guidance of the Civil Lead, you will ensure our site infrastructure and utility designs are accurate, functional, and buildable without revisions. Your key responsibilities will include translating civil engineering designs into accurate, data-rich BIM models. You will help ensure that designs are fully coordinated, functional, and constructible, reducing the need for rework and supporting efficient project delivery. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Site Development & Earthworks: Independently develop intelligent 3D models for site grading, platforms, and paving based on high-level design concepts, optimizing cut-and-fill balances (earthworks) with high engineering and economic awareness. Underground Dry & Wet Utilities: Own the design and modeling of gravity-fed and pressurized underground utility networks (stormwater, foul water, firewater, power/telecom cable ducts, and trenches). You will independently determine proper slopes, bend radii, cover depths, and clash-free routing. Design Quality & Logic: Proactively review and validate design inputs with a critical eye. We need an individual who applies strong engineering logic to identify potential clashes, accessibility issues, or maintenance constraints early and resolves them independently. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate within a multidisciplinary, cross-border team to deliver integrated layouts, ensuring initial space reservations and resolving clashes with other disciplines early in the design phase under minimal supervision. participate in international travel is required; Standards & Documentation: Maintain regular communication with Project Engineers and ensure all work meets company and client standards. Assist in drafting technical specifications and compiling engineering studies or reports. Contribute to optimizing internal processes and share knowledge within the team. Propose and develop innovative BIM Solutions. Maintain regular communication with Project Engineers and BIM Coordinator and ensure all work meets Haskoning and client standards.

As our new Junior Electrical BIM Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres) you will become part of the team Mission Critical Facilities Spain. Our global Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team provides a multidisciplinary package of consultancy services for our datacenter clients. We provide strategic, tactical, and operational advice to our clients, including colocation datacentres, internet service providers, and telecom companies. Our team consists of colleagues with all kinds of different expertise. For example, mechanical engineering, construction, civil, structure, building, architecture, fire safety, controls engineering, and security technology. You are an entrepreneurial, autonomy, result oriented, proactive individual with a positive flexible, problem-solving attitude and open to innovation. Besides that, you have: Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil/infrastructure engineering design and modeling (consulting environment preferred). Experience in Data Centres (DC) or Mission Critical Facilities is highly valued. Good knowledge of BIM, Revit and Civil 3D is essential; certifications are advantageous; Experience with Dynamo, Python, Rhino Inside Revit is highly desirable; Familiarity with gravity network analysis and drainage design software (e.g., InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, or similar ) is highly valued. Engineering Mindset & Autonomy: High analytical capability to understand site layout constraints and utility coordination with minimal guidance. Solid understanding of civil engineering analysis (hydraulics, hydrology, and pavement design). Strong knowledge of general civil engineering principles, with the flexibility to adapt to different National design standards and local codes. Demonstrating excellent communication skills towards colleagues and clients and is fluent in English (minimum B2). Spanish is also preferable, Dutch and/ or German would be a plus.
