Mechanical Engineering (Cooling specialism)- Mission Critical

What you'll do
Provide technical guidance, design reviews and engineering expertise across cooling systems, HVAC, chilled water systems, cooling towers, liquid cooling technologies, water treatment, plumbing and fire protection systems. Assess existing mechanical infrastructure and support maintenance, refurbishment and end-of-life replacement programmes. Develop scopes of work, technical documentation, engineering designs and project deliverables. Support engineering projects from concept and planning through implementation, testing and operational handover. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful delivery of engineering initiatives. Identify and mitigate engineering risks while maintaining compliance with all safety, environmental and engineering standards. Drive optimisation projects that improve efficiency, reliability, sustainability and overall data centre performance. Support commissioning, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and infrastructure testing activities. Champion Equinix's strong safety culture and commitment to operational excellence. Qualifications & Background Proven experience across mechanical system design (particularly HVAC, chilled water and cooling solutions), operations, maintenance and project delivery. Experience within data centres or other mission-critical environments is highly desirable. We also welcome candidates from adjacent industries including pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, utilities, healthcare, transport infrastructure and other complex engineering environments. Experience gained within a mechanical engineering consultancy, engineering design practice, contractor, commissioning organisation or end-user/operator environment is highly valued. Candidates with consultancy backgrounds who are looking to apply their expertise within a live operational environment are strongly encouraged to apply. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, industry standards and best practices. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants and equipment vendors. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
