Apply to Senior Instrumentation Engineer The Hague area Contracting For one of our clients in the energy transition industry, we are looking for a instrument engineer. Our client is a global engineering and technology company that specializes in large-scale energy and industrial infrastructure projects. It provides services including engineering, procurement, construction, and project management, with strong expertise in liquefied natural gas (LNG), petrochemicals, hydrogen, and carbon capture solutions. The organization plays a key role in supporting both conventional energy developments and lower-carbon technologies as part of the global energy transition. As Senior Instrument Engineer, you handle all Instrument components (control, flow and temperature), from a technical point of view (datasheets, requisitions and Vendor prints). Additionally, in case you are assigned as lead engineer, you are responsible for all organizational aspects of a project (manpower, planning), internal coordination (technical sections, procurement planning and Project Manager) and discussions with external parties, such as clients and vendors. You handle proposals, preparation of hardware budgets, hours’ budgets, technical scope descriptions and execute discussions with Clients. The Sr. Instrument Engineer reports to the assigned Lead Engineer or to the Project Manager. General Tasks Is aware and cares for Health, Safety & Environmental aspects during daily actions, and drives HSE performance throughout project and or internal/ external services activities. Handle instrumentation engineering activities in projects and proposals. Execute projects as Lead Engineer Instrumentation (in case assignment by DM). Assist other Lead Engineer Instrumentation on projects as required. Specific Tasks Lead Engineer Instrumentation: Contract Review and follow up. Ensure incorporation of lessons learned (Quality Deviation Lists, Quality Improvement Points). Prepare basis of Design Instrumentation. Ensure that instrument scope is fully executed. Ensure adequate 2nd pair of eyes check. Ensure project schedules and milestones are met. Timely inform Project Manager and Manager Instrumentation & Electrical on delays, problems, etc. Use Quantity Tracker Program (including timely update and informing of Project, Procurement and Construction). Ensure proper check of CAD 3D modeling Execute tasks defined for Instrument Engineer. Instrument Engineer: Assist in proposals and projects as required Assist in preparation of P&ID’s and participate in P&ID review meetings, HAZOP meetings and Sil meetings. Execute calculations for flow instruments, control valves and pressure relief valves. Preparation specifications and data sheets for control valves, pressure relief valves and analyzers, etc. Preparation of requisitions, technical bid tabulations and vendor pint checking. Preparation of documents for DCS and SGS system. Assist in inspections when requested by inspection department and/or for DCS, SGS and analyzers. Site assistance during construction, commissioning and start-up on request of the construction and/or start-up department (special assignment). Education and Experience: Education Bachelor or Master’s degree in one of following engineering subjects: Instrumentation, Process Control, Electrical and Electronics, Chemical or Mechanical. Work experience More than ten years’ experience in a similar engineering function. Interfaces Frequent contact with process department, various other engineering disciplines, procurement department and project department. Frequent contact with Instrumentation section of other TP offices (in case of project cooperation). Regular contacts with construction, sales and estimating departments. Regular contacts with clients and suppliers. Competences Departmental competences: Information processing Is able to collect, absorb, put in order and process information.
