What you'll do
You will be responsible for ensuring that new equipment, systems, and facilities are safely commissioned and fully operational before handover to the client or production team. This role serves as the critical link between engineering, construction, and operations by verifying that installations meet design specifications, performing functional testing, and validating system performance to ensure operational readiness.
Develop and implement commissioning plans, strategies, and schedules.
Verify equipment and system installations against engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Perform loop checks, I/O verification, signal testing, and instrument calibration.
Plan, execute, and document Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and Integrated System Testing (IST).
Conduct startup activities and operational readiness assessments.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, automation, and instrumentation systems during commissioning.
Coordinate commissioning activities with contractors, OEMs, project engineers, operations teams, and clients.
Manage punch lists, track commissioning progress, and support project closeout and handover documentation.
Deliver operator and maintenance training to ensure safe and effective system operation.
Ensure all commissioning activities comply with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
What you'll bring
Experience developing and executing commissioning strategies, plans, and schedules.
Ability to verify installations against engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Hands-on experience performing loop checks, I/O verification, signal testing, and instrument calibration.
Experience leading or supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and Integrated System Testing (IST).
Knowledge of Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) protocols.
Experience with startup, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, automation, and instrumentation systems.
Working knowledge of PLC and SCADA validation.
Experience commissioning motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and electrical distribution systems.
Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
