What you'll do

You will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, commissioning, and ongoing support of industrial automation systems. This role combines expertise in control engineering, industrial software development, and manufacturing processes to deliver reliable and efficient automation solutions. The Automation Engineer works closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize production performance, improve system reliability, and support digital transformation initiatives.

Design, develop, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications for industrial manufacturing facilities.

Program, configure, test, and troubleshoot control systems for automated production equipment.

Develop functional specifications, control philosophies, software design documentation, and technical manuals.

Integrate field devices, sensors, instrumentation, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems, motion control systems, and industrial robots into automation platforms.

Execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, startup, validation, and performance testing.

Diagnose and resolve automation, control, communication, and system integration issues to minimize production downtime.

Support equipment upgrades, production line expansions, modernization projects, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process efficiency, safety, and system reliability.

Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training to operations and maintenance personnel.

Ensure automation solutions comply with company standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

What you'll bring

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation & Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Strong experience designing, programming, and troubleshooting industrial automation systems.

Proficiency with PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms, including Siemens (TIA Portal, Step7, WinCC), Rockwell (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View), and/or Ignition or Wonderware.

Experience programming PLCs using Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Structured Text (ST).

Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, and OPC UA.

Hands-on experience integrating field instrumentation, VFDs, servo systems, motion control, and industrial robotics.

Familiarity with SQL databases, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and industrial system integration.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex automation and control issues
