Commissioning Electricity Specialist

Project Context Our client is delivering a major industrial energy infrastructure project in Europe as part of the transition toward low-carbon energy solutions. Currently entering the Commissioning & Start-up phase, the project requires an experienced Electrical Commissioning Specialist to support the testing, energization and operational readiness of critical HV and MV electrical systems. Working closely with Engineering, Construction and Operations teams, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe transition from Mechanical Completion to Commercial Operations. Position Overview The successful candidate will lead and coordinate commissioning activities related to substations, power distribution systems, transformers, protection systems and power conversion equipment. This role requires strong field experience, technical leadership and a hands-on approach within a complex international project environment.

HV/MV Substation & Electrical Systems Commissioning Lead the commissioning, testing and energization of HV substations, GIS switchgears and power transformers Coordinate commissioning activities for MV switchgears, electrical distribution networks and associated infrastructure Supervise the commissioning of power conversion equipment, rectifiers and reactive power compensation systems Testing, Protection & Grid Integration Execute electrical testing activities including insulation testing, protection relay verification and functional validation Coordinate grid compliance activities and support energization and synchronization procedures Lead loop checks, interlock testing and system validation prior to plant start-up Field Execution & Commissioning Coordination Coordinate vendors, subcontractors and commissioning teams during site execution activities Monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and support the resolution of technical issues and punch list items Manage system handovers between Construction, Commissioning and Operations teams Safety & Operational Readiness Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and commissioning procedures Support PSSR activities and readiness reviews prior to start-up Prepare commissioning reports and contribute to the successful transition to commercial operations

Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in Electrical Commissioning within industrial, power generation or energy projects Proven experience commissioning HV/MV electrical systems, substations and power distribution infrastructure Strong background in energization, electrical testing, protection systems and grid integration Experience working on EPC, industrial, renewable energy, hydrogen, power generation, petrochemical or Oil & Gas projects Previous exposure to large-scale commissioning and start-up environments is highly desirable
