Azure Ops Engineer — Data Platform Support
You're not the one building the data pipelines here — you're the reason the people who do can actually get on with it. This role sits between a large Azure data platform and the engineering teams that depend on it: you provision their environments, sort out their access, deploy their pipelines and get them unstuck when something breaks. If you like being the person others come to because you actually solve things, this is that seat.
The environment
Our client is a large financial organisation, and you'll join the platform team that onboards and supports internal users of its Azure-based data and analytics environment. Your users are technical — data engineers and analytics teams — which makes the support conversation a genuine engineering discussion rather than a ticket queue.
The team owns onboarding, support and platform reliability for an environment used across the organisation. It's a regulated setting, so access management and traceability are part of the daily work rather than a compliance box.
What you'll do
Provision and support Azure data environments for engineering teams.
Deploy and maintain pipelines and platform configurations.
Handle onboarding, incidents and questions from technical users.
Troubleshoot across Azure services, deployment pipelines and platform components.
Work side by side with data engineers as your internal customers.
Improve the reliability, usability and adoption of the platform's services.
Write documentation and guidance that stops the same question being asked twice.

What you'll bring
Must-haves
Experience as an Azure engineer, platform engineer, DevOps engineer or cloud support engineer.
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Azure environments.
Hands-on experience deploying pipelines through Azure DevOps or comparable CI/CD tooling.
An understanding of data platform services and how data engineers actually use them.
Strong troubleshooting instincts and a real support mindset — you chase the root cause.
Communication skills to match: you're comfortable in a customer-facing role with technical users, and you can turn a vague complaint into a clear next action.
Nice to have
Azure Data Factory, Databricks, storage accounts, access management, monitoring or Infrastructure as Code.
Experience onboarding teams onto a cloud or data platform.
A background in banking, enterprise or other large-scale data platform environments.
An Azure data fundamentals certification is required for this position.
Good to know
A pre-employment screening is part of the process — standard for the financial sector.
Working language is English; Dutch is not required.
You'll need a valid EU work permit or existing right to work in the Netherlands.
