PostNL is implementing federated data governance across its business domains and data platforms. As Data Governance Officer, you help turn our data-management standards into practical improvements. Your main focus is supporting Data Quality, Data Ownership and Platform Compliance. This is a practical implementation role, not a policy-writing or engineering role.

This is a practical implementation role, not a policy-writing or engineering role.
What you will do
Help Data Owners and Data Stewards put their responsibilities into practice.
Support domains in identifying critical data and important Data Quality issues.
Help define and implement measurable Data Quality rules.
Support the use of Collibra Data Quality and report results and open issues.
Maintain an overview of issues, actions, owners and deadlines.
Check how data-management requirements are applied on Databricks.
Support assessments covering ownership, metadata, lineage, classification, access and retention.
Work with platform teams to identify and follow up on governance gaps.
Support the connection between business metadata in Ontos and technical metadata in Unity Catalog.
Facilitate workshops that lead to clear decisions and actions.
Expected results in the first six months. You will have:
Supported one or two domains with implementing data-management practices.
Helped implement Data Quality rules for selected business use cases.
Created a clear overview of DQ issues, owners and improvement actions.
Supported a data-management compliance assessment of Databricks.
Identified platform gaps and tracked the agreed actions.
Helped onboard selected data products in Ontos.

What you'll bring
You are pragmatic, structured and action-oriented. You enjoy working with both business and technical stakeholders and know how to turn discussions into clear actions. Your communication skills help you facilitate workshops, create ownership and drive improvements that deliver measurable results. You have the:
3-6 years of experience in data management, data governance, Data Quality or a related field.
Experience implementing data-management processes in practice.
Knowledge of Data Quality concepts and controls.
Experience working with business and technical stakeholders.
The ability to facilitate workshops and follow up on actions.
Enough technical understanding to see how data management is implemented on data platforms.
A pragmatic, structured and action-oriented way of working.
Strong English communication skills. Dutch is an advantage.
Experience with Collibra Data Quality, Databricks, Unity Catalog, Ontos, data products or SQL is an advantage.
Success in this role means that Data Quality becomes measurable, ownership becomes clearer and governance gaps on data platforms are identified and followed up.

Salary between €4.588 and €6.498 (scale 11) gross per month at 37 hours per week. But 32 hours is possible too!
Hybrid working is encouraged and you’ll have flexible working hours. Employees who work from home more than two days a week get an allowance of €45 net per month.
8% vacation pay and 25 vacation days on a full-time contract.
Travel allowance for commuting from 6 km each way up to a maximum of 70 km each way, or an NS Business Card for business travel and commuting.

About the company
You will join the Data Centre of Excellence (Data CoE), a team dedicated to building strong data-management practices across our organisation. You work closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, platform teams and business stakeholders from different domains. Together, you create practical solutions that improve Data Quality, ownership and compliance while supporting innovation on our data platforms.
