Are you a Master's student and are you ready to combine your passion for digital innovation, healthcare and the public sector?

At Accenture the Netherlands, you will work across a diverse range of topics, spanning operational excellence and strategic challenges to the implementation of emerging technologies. During your internship, you will be mentored and guided by experienced consultants, gaining practical skills that will be valuable throughout your entire career. This internship challenges you to combine your academic curiosity and innovative mindset to create real societal value through technologies and change initiatives.

Internship duration: 4 to 6 months, starting February or March.

What you'll do: As an intern, you will collaborate with dedicated consultants on real client engagements, supporting organizations such as various ministries with national and international dependencies, (academic) hospitals and justice and public safety institutions in becoming more digital, agile, and future-ready.

You will gain practical experience with envisioning strategies while contributing to meaningful projects that create real value for our clients, delivering tangible benefits such as cost savings, handling cases more efficiently and quickly, or optimizing their processes.

You’ll be involved in a variety of projects, including business analyses, stakeholders and market analyses, assisting in the development of business proposals, and researching clients’ systems and functionalities. Are you a master's student who wants to contribute to strategic innovation and digital transformation in the public sector?

At Accenture Netherlands, you'll work on a wide range of challenges facing government and public organizations, from developing digitalization strategies and improving public service delivery, to analyzing emerging technologies and guiding organizational change. Experienced consultants will coach you in conducting analyses, structuring complex problems, and translating insights into concrete recommendations for our clients.

Your primary focus will be on the public sector, but as part of the broader Health & Public Services (HPS) team, you'll also gain exposure to healthcare projects; broadening your perspective on strategic transformation across both domains.

Duration: 4 to 6 months, starting in February or March.

As an intern, you'll work alongside consultants on projects for public sector organizations such as ministries, government executive agencies, and institutions in the field of justice and safety. You'll explore how public services can be made faster and more accessible, how processes can be redesigned more efficiently, or how digital technology can be applied responsibly.

You'll learn to develop and substantiate strategies through structured analysis. Your contributions may lead to reduced costs, shorter throughput times, improved digital service delivery, or more efficient processes for our clients.

What to expect

Working internship: You'll have the opportunity to shape your own experience and explore your personal interests. You'll contribute to various projects including business analyses, stakeholder and market analyses, support in developing business proposals, and research into client systems and functionalities. You are encouraged to bring your own ideas and initiatives, so you can challenge yourself and get the most out of your internship.

Thesis internship: It is also possible — in consultation with your supervisor — to combine your internship with writing your thesis. You are encouraged to choose a topic that aligns with your studies and adds value to one of our clients. You'll receive all the guidance and resources needed to complete your thesis while continuing to contribute to the HPS team.

Job Qualifications

Education: Currently enrolled in a master's program at a Dutch university for the full duration of the internship. Preferred fields of study include Public or Business Administration, Political Science, Law, Healthcare/Life Sciences, or closely related disciplines.

Skills: Affinity with public administration, governance, and/or the public sector; you actively follow the latest developments in policy, technology, and digital government.

Mindset: Ambitious and proactive, naturally critical and analytical, a strong communicator, and a team player.

Bonus points: Involvement in extracurricular activities such as student organizations, Defensity College, Society College, De Kleine Consultant, etc.

Location: Amsterdam

Languages: Fluent Dutch and English required
