Finance Manager

As a Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the financial operations of AMS-IX and help ensure that our financial processes, reporting and controls are accurate, efficient and reliable. You will oversee financial planning and analysis, accounting, compliance, purchasing and cash flow, while providing financial insight and advice to the Management Team. Working closely with the CFO and colleagues across the organisation, you will play an important role in translating financial information into actionable insights, continuously improving our financial processes and supporting strategic and commercial decision-making. You will also lead and develop the Finance team and related functions.

Financial Planning, Reporting & Accounting Oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual financial planning and analysis (FP&A) cycle. Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial consolidation. Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing and management reporting. Maintain oversight of the general ledger and ensure the quality and consistency of financial information. Prepare the annual accounts in accordance with applicable accounting requirements. Manage the annual audit process in close cooperation with the CFO. Oversee cash flow and support effective financial planning. Financial Control & Compliance Monitor and continuously improve the financial process control framework. Ensure consistency, efficiency and reliability of processes across Finance. Oversee financial compliance requirements, including Dutch GAAP, VAT and tax. Ensure timely and accurate regulatory and financial reporting. Identify relevant financial and business risks and ensure that significant issues are reported to the Management Team. Financial Advice & Business Partnership Act as a trusted financial advisor to the Management Team. Provide financial analysis and advice on complex transactions and business decisions. Assess the financial implications and viability of commercial and strategic initiatives. Work closely with Team Managers, Product Managers and other support functions to provide financial insight and guidance. Process Improvement & Finance Projects Identify opportunities to improve and automate financial and operational processes. Support and, where appropriate, lead Finance and Finance-related projects. Work with other departments to implement improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy and scalability. Contribute to the continuous development of Finance processes, systems and ways of working. Team Leadership Lead, coach and develop employees within the Finance function. Create an environment that supports collaboration, ownership and professional development. Manage recruitment and onboarding of new team members when required. Coordinate effectively across Finance and related functions.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. 10+ years of experience in Finance and Accounting within an international working environment. Experience in a comparable Finance leadership role; experience within a large audit firm is preferred. Fluency in Dutch and English. Demonstrated experience leading and developing employees. Experience working with senior management and translating financial information into business insights. Technical skills you bring Strong knowledge of international GAAPs and experience preparing annual accounts under Dutch GAAP. Experience with multi-currency (sub-)consolidations. Strong experience running Financial Planning & Analysis cycles, including budgeting and forecasting. Strong accounting, analytical and numerical skills. Good understanding of financial and business risk management. Ability to identify and report relevant risk issues to senior management. Understanding of privacy standards. Experience with financial controls, audits and regulatory requirements. Experience improving and automating financial processes. Experience implementing or working with Salesforce is a plus.
