Vacancies Editorial Coordinator – Dutch Editorial Coordinator – Dutch International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) presents a leading film festival and year-round programme. We support new and adventurous filmmaking talent, also beyond the screening room, through initiatives such as CineMart, the Hubert Bals Fund, Rotterdam Lab and other industry activities. In January each year, we bring together emerging and established filmmakers and artists from around the world to showcase a visionary programme of independent films, talks, exhibitions, performances, installations, immersive media and more. IFFR attracts over 300,000 visits to screenings and events annually. We also organise a range of film-related activities throughout the year, with our Filmclub and other collaborations with Rotterdam-based partners. In January/February 2027, we will celebrate the 56th edition of our 11-day festival, and we are looking for a Dutch-speaking Editorial Coordinator (f/m/x) to join our Communications team. This concerns a temporary contract (5-6 months).

The Editorial Coordinator oversees the Dutch editing and translation process of film descriptions and other related content leading up to the presentation of the IFFR 2027 programme on IFFR.com and in IFFR publications like the programme guide and catalogue. Working in the Communications team, part of the larger Audiences & Communities division, the Editorial Coordinator reports directly to the Head of Communications. What will you do? Oversee the (copy) editing and translation process of film and event texts. Ensure written content is representative of IFFR’s tone of voice, maintaining consistency across different platforms and publications. Support with writing and editing of biographies and filmographies. Coordinate the editorial team, consisting of freelance writers, editors and translators. Maintain a detailed administration of the editorial team’s tasks and remuneration. Monitor programme selections and database workflows. Assist with copy editing of the IFFR programme guide and other publications. Support the Audiences & Communities team with any other related tasks (within reason). Who are you? Ideally you are/will have Previous experience as a Dutch text editor; Excellent Dutch language skills, as well as strong English language skills; An understanding of creating website content; Able to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment; Strong organisational, planning and team-working skills; Passion for text and film; Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; Someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and communicates clearly under pressure; Able to juggle multiple tasks at the same time; Critical, with a keen eye for detail; Living in Rotterdam or within travelling distance and eligible to work in the Netherlands. What do we offer? A dynamic temporary role in the Communications team of one of the world’s leading international film festivals, at the heart of a dynamic and creative environment. A 2-3 day working week, based at our office in central Rotterdam. Temporary contract, 5-6 months, from October 2026 to February 2027. 25 days of paid leave (pro-rata).
