Commissioning Instrumentation Specialist

About the role
Main mission The Commissioning Instrumentation Specialist is responsible for executing and supervising all field instrumentation commissioning activities on a large industrial site. The position ensures safe, compliant, and efficient commissioning of instrumentation systems, loop checks, and actuator calibration, working closely with multidisciplinary teams. Instrumentation commissioning — Perform and supervise commissioning activities for field instruments across the facility. Loop checks — Execute, validate, and troubleshoot loop checks to ensure full signal integrity from field devices to control systems. Actuator calibration — Conduct initialization, testing, and calibration of actuators and control valves. Yokogawa systems — Interface with Yokogawa control systems for configuration, testing, and commissioning tasks. Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and commissioning procedures. Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, punch lists, and progress reports. Collaborate with construction, QA/QC, HSE, and operations teams to ensure smooth transition from installation to commissioning. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve instrumentation issues during commissioning phases. Support start-up teams during pre‑commissioning and commissioning milestones.
What you'll bring
10+ years of field instrumentation experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or industrial environments. Proven expertise in loop checks, actuator initialization, and instrument calibration. Hands-on experience with Yokogawa systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA). Strong understanding of instrumentation standards, commissioning workflows, and safety practices. Fluent English (spoken and written). Ability to work in multicultural, fast-paced project environments. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Strong problem‑solving mindset and autonomy. High attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines.
