Order to Cash (O2C), within Finance and FinTech, manages the financial lifecycle with accommodation partners—from invoicing and payouts to receivables collection, cash allocation and revenue operations. Global Finance Analytics provides horizontal analytics and data science support across O2C, helping teams improve partner outcomes, operational effectiveness and financial performance.
Based in Amsterdam, this Data Scientist II will join Global Finance Analytics (GFA), the horizontal analytics team supporting Order to Cash (O2C) and the wider Finance and FinTech organization. The role will own the design and execution of experiments and data science solutions that maximize collection effectiveness, improve payout outcomes and strengthen the end-to-end financial journey for Booking.com partners. The role works closely with O2C Operations, Finance and FinTech leaders, product teams, data and engineering peers, and partner-facing teams.
What you'll do
Own end-to-end data science solutions, from problem framing and experimental design through analysis, recommendation, implementation and impact measurement.
Design and execute statistically robust experiments to optimize collection interventions and maximize recovery while protecting partner experience.
Analyze payout and collection journeys to identify opportunities that help O2C pay partners successfully and collect receivables effectively.
Translate ambiguous business challenges into clear hypotheses, analytical approaches and actionable recommendations.
Partner with O2C operations, product, Finance, FinTech, data and engineering teams, and communicate results clearly to senior stakeholders.
Build scalable and reproducible solutions and ensure quality through validation and peer review.
Measure impact through collection and recovery performance, payout outcomes, write-off, partner experience and adoption, while supporting junior colleagues.
What you'll bring
Proven experience applying data science to complex business problems and delivering measurable outcomes.
Strong knowledge of experimental design, A/B testing, statistical inference and quantitative decision-making.
Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python or R, with experience preparing and modelling large datasets.
Familiarity with modern data platforms and workflows such as Snowflake, Spark, dbt, ETL and data-quality practices.
Strong stakeholder management, data visualization and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence decisions.
Experience in finance, payments, collections, operational optimization or mentoring junior colleagues is desirable.
