About the role
Python DevOps Engineer
An opportunity for an experienced Python DevOps Engineer to join a leading financial institution in the Netherlands. You will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of a large-scale model development and analytics platform used by more than 1,500 professionals to create advanced data analytics and machine learning solutions.
Working within a multidisciplinary team of platform engineers, DevOps engineers, business analysts, product owners and solution architects, you will develop scalable Python solutions, automate platform processes and help maintain a stable, flexible and user-friendly Azure environment.
What you'll do
Develop clean, maintainable and testable Python scripts and applications.
Build APIs using FastAPI and RESTful design principles.
Integrate applications with data sources, Azure services and third-party systems.
Automate workflows and operational platform processes.
Monitor platform performance and resolve technical issues.
Improve the stability, scalability and usability of the analytics platform.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps.
Deploy containerised applications and APIs within Azure.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Evaluate and apply relevant Azure technologies and cloud engineering practices.
Contribute to Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform.
What you'll bring
At least five years of experience in a DevOps or similar engineering position.
Experience working with large-scale analytics or data platforms.
Strong proficiency in Python 3.x.
Ability to write clean, modular and testable Python code.
Experience with modern Python features, including type hinting, asynchronous programming and dependency injection.
Hands-on experience developing APIs using FastAPI and REST.
Experience integrating applications with third-party services.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architectures.
Experience with Azure Entra ID, Microsoft Graph API, Storage Accounts and Cosmos DB.
Experience with Docker and deploying APIs within Azure.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps.
Experience with unit testing using pytest, including mocking and API contract testing.
Familiarity with Terraform or comparable Infrastructure as Code tooling.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder communication skills.
