About the role
Medior Data Analyst / Data Modeler – Banking & Collateral Data
We are looking for two Medior Data Analysts / Data Modelers to join a strategic data initiative within the banking sector. This is an opportunity to work on the delivery of a high-impact Collateral Data Product, supporting credit decision-making, risk management, regulatory reporting and lending processes.
In this role, you will operate at the intersection of business, data and technology. You will translate business and data requirements into scalable, high-quality data solutions and contribute to the further development of data models, mappings, lineage and transformation logic.
You will work closely with stakeholders, architects, engineers and data consumers, taking ownership of data initiatives from analysis and design through to testing and release.
Key responsibilities
Gather, analyse and translate business and data requirements into practical solutions
Identify data gaps and support improvements within the credit data domain
Maintain and improve conceptual, logical and physical data models
Create and maintain data mappings, lineage and transformation logic
Analyse data using SQL on a daily basis
Read and interpret Python code to support bug fixing and solution analysis
Test ETL outcomes and clearly document test results, including evidence for audit and control purposes
Contribute to data quality improvements, product development and better ways of working
Work with multiple stakeholders across business, technology and senior management
What you'll bring
Experience as a Data Analyst, Data Modeler, Business Data Analyst, Information Analyst or similar
Strong SQL and data analysis skills
Experience with data modelling, data mapping and data lineage
Knowledge of data testing practices, including unit, regression and acceptance testing
Understanding of IT delivery processes, release management and data platforms
Experience with Databricks is a strong advantage
Familiarity with JSON and the ability to read or interpret Python code is a plus
Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple topics simultaneously
Proactive, analytical and detail-oriented mindset
Experience within banking is highly preferred, especially in areas such as lending, credit risk, collateral management, regulatory reporting or capital optimisation.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong data expertise with business understanding and enjoys working on data products that have direct impact on risk, compliance and decision-making.

Location: Amsterdam (hybrid)
Contract: 12 months (with likelihood of extension)
