What you'll do
Acting as the technical SME for network security architecture and controls Conducting a comprehensive review of the organisation's network security landscape Assessing existing network security controls, governance processes, and operational procedures Identifying security weaknesses, control gaps, and opportunities to improve resilience Reviewing connectivity, access control, and network security request processes Evaluating the effectiveness of current security tooling and technologies Providing recommendations to strengthen security posture and reduce exposure to critical incidents Supporting investment and roadmap planning for future network security initiatives Working closely with architects, engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders Producing technical assessments, reports, recommendations, and architecture artefacts Supporting security assurance and compliance activities Advising on network security best practices, standards, and emerging threats Contributing to the development of future-state network security architecture and strategy
Nice to have
Experience working at Enterprise Architect or Lead Security Architect level Consultancy or Global Systems Integrator experience Experience reviewing global network environments and large-scale enterprise estates Experience working in highly regulated or security-conscious environments Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as: ISO 27001 NIST CIS Controls Zero Trust Architecture Relevant certifications such as: CISSP CCSP CISM Palo Alto Certifications CCNP Security TOGAF

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in a strategic network security review programme, helping to strengthen security controls, improve resilience, and shape the future direction of network security architecture across a large and complex international estate. You will act as a subject matter expert for network security, working closely with security leadership, enterprise architects, infrastructure teams, and operational stakeholders to assess the current security landscape, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide strategic recommendations. Your work will directly contribute to reducing operational risk, strengthening compliance and assurance, and improving the overall security posture of the organisation. We are seeking a Senior Network Security Consultant with extensive experience assessing, designing, and improving network security capabilities within large-scale enterprise environments. The role will focus on conducting a comprehensive review of network security controls, architecture, processes, and technologies across a global estate. You will work alongside internal architecture and security teams to identify weaknesses, assess resilience, review security controls and governance practices, and provide recommendations to strengthen network security capabilities and reduce exposure to critical incidents. You will be responsible for evaluating current technologies, processes, and security controls, while helping to define a future-state network security strategy aligned to business requirements, operational resilience objectives, and industry best practice.
Proven experience operating as a Senior Network Security Consultant, Security Architect, Enterprise Security Architect, or similar consultancy-level role Extensive experience conducting network security reviews, assessments, and architecture evaluations within complex enterprise environments Experience with: Palo Alto Networks Meraki SolarWinds Strong understanding of network security architecture, controls, and operational security principles Experience identifying security risks, control weaknesses, and resilience improvement opportunities Strong knowledge of network segmentation, firewalls, secure connectivity, access controls, and threat mitigation strategies Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, architects, and technical teams Ability to translate technical findings into strategic recommendations and investment plans Strong analytical, problem-solving, and advisory skills Experience supporting security governance, assurance, and compliance activities Excellent written and verbal communication skills
