Our client, a fast-moving fintech owned by one of the largest banks in the Netherlands, runs a uniform data lake on AWS. A core data engineering team sources, cleanses and publishes the data products; you make that data truly usable.

You build the consumption layers – dimensional models, data marts and integrations – that power reporting, marketing and operational decision-making across the business. It is a hands-on role with real ownership: you gather requirements with business stakeholders, design the model, build and run the pipelines and make sure the data can be trusted.

Design and build dimensional data models and data marts optimised for Power BI.

Develop and operate ETL/ELT pipelines with orchestration, scheduling and monitoring.

Build in data quality controls, validation rules and automated checks.

Design marketing data structures and integrate the data lake with marketing technology platforms.

Deliver pre-integrated, self-service datasets and reusable metrics for Operations and Risk teams.

Work within the data lake architecture, standards and data governance.

Proven experience as a Data Engineer in an analytics or reporting-focused environment.

Strong dimensional modelling skills (Kimball, star schemas, data marts).

Hands-on experience with AWS data services (e.g. S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions).

ETL/ELT pipeline design, orchestration (e.g. Airflow), scheduling and event-driven processing.

A strong focus on data quality, monitoring and operational excellence.

Ownership from requirement to production, a collaborative attitude and the ability to explain data to business people.

dbt, Python/SQL, Power BI, marketing data or reverse ETL, banking or fintech experience.
