For a multidisciplinary Data & Analytics team, we are seeking a mid-level Data Engineer to help develop, manage, and improve data solutions within a modern cloud data environment.

The Data Engineer is responsible for ingesting, transforming, and modeling data from various sources and actively contributes to the creation of reliable and scalable data products. The candidate will assist in designing data models, developing ETL processes, and ensuring data quality.

The role involves working within an Agile team, collaborating closely with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.

Designing and implementing data models.

Developing transformations in dbt.

Working with SQL within a modern cloud data environment.

Developing Python code for data processing and automation.

Ensuring data quality by testing and validating datasets and data models.

Working with version control, deployment processes, and CI/CD principles.

Collaborating within an Agile framework.

Requirements

The candidate possesses:

Python

At least 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with active use of Python in assignments.

Demonstrable experience developing or generating code for data processing, automation, or ETL processes.

DBT

At least 1 year of demonstrable experience with DBT.

Ability to independently develop and maintain data models and transformations within DBT.

SQL / Snowflake

Demonstrable experience with SQL in a modern cloud data environment.

Experience with Snowflake is a strong plus.

Git

Demonstrable experience with Git in professional development environments.

CI/CD

Experience working within CI/CD environments.

Understanding of deployment, branching, and release processes.

Experience as a CI/CD user is sufficient; experience as an administrator or builder is not required.

Data Modeling (Kimball)

Experience designing and applying data models based on Kimball principles.

Ability to interpret, apply, and further develop dimensional models.

Agile

Experience with Agile working methods.

Understands Agile principles and has experience working in Scrum or similar teams.

Orchestration (Desired)

Experience with Airflow.

If no experience with Airflow: demonstrable experience with a similar orchestration tool.

AWS

Experience with AWS components, preferably:

S3

IAM

Elastic Container Services

Metadata and modeling

Experience with LinkML.

Experience with SHACL.

Experience with YAML.

Domain knowledge

Knowledge of CIM (Common Information Model).

Knowledge of the electricity grid.

Experience in the energy sector or with grid operators
