As a Field Service Engineer at CEAD, your primary focus is the successful installation, commissioning, servicing, and technical support of CEAD’s large-scale additive manufacturing systems at customer locations worldwide. You will represent CEAD on-site and work directly with customers to ensure that our systems are installed correctly, commissioned safely, and performing according to the required technical specifications. Depending on your experience and level of responsibility, you will support or independently execute complete installations and commissioning projects. As a Field Service Engineer, you will combine international field service work with hands-on technical work at our facility in Delft. When you are not travelling, you will work from our production facility in Delft, where you will contribute to machine assembly, system integration, testing, preparation, and continuous improvement activities. This ensures that you develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the systems you will later install and service in the field. Level: Junior+ / Medior / Senior Key Focus Area: International Installation, Commissioning, Field Service & Troubleshooting Time Commitment : Fulltime Location : Delft & International Customer Locations Your Key Activities: Production & Assembly & Commissioning Assembles electro-mechanical components, modules, subassemblies, and systems according to technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications. Install and commission CEAD’s large-scale additive manufacturing systems at customer locations worldwide. Ensure installations are performed safely and according to CEAD’s technical specifications, procedures, and quality standards. Perform and support Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and other customer acceptance activities. Depending on experience and demonstrated competencies, independently take technical ownership of on-site installation and commissioning activities. Identify and communicate technical risks, deviations, dependencies, and required corrective actions during installation and commissioning.Provide clear technical handover of successfully commissioned systems. Field Service, Maintenance & Technical Support Perform repairs, adjustments, replacements, upgrades, and modifications where required. Support customers in restoring machine availability and performance as efficiently as possible. Escalate complex technical issues to the relevant Engineering, Software, Production, or Project Engineering specialists when necessary. Follow up on technical issues to ensure appropriate corrective actions have been implemented. Customer Support & On-Site Representation Act as CEAD’s technical representative during installations, commissioning activities, maintenance, and service interventions. Maintain a professional and solution-oriented approach, including when working under time pressure or dealing with unexpected technical challenges. Build effective working relationships with customer technical teams while safeguarding CEAD’s technical and quality standards. System Testing & Preparation When not working internationally, you will contribute to Production and Assembly activities in Delft to maintain and further develop your technical knowledge of CEAD systems. Support the assembly and integration of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components, modules, and complete systems. Verify the technical completeness and readiness of machines before international installation. Provide a field-service perspective during machine preparation to identify potential installation or service risks in advance. Ensure that the required tools, spare parts, documentation, equipment, and materials are prepared for upcoming installations and service activities. Continuous Improvement Contributes ideas to improve production processes, efficiency, safety, and quality. Provides feedback on work instructions, assembly procedures, and technical documentation. Supports standardization and process optimization initiatives. Actively participates in improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives. Continuously develops technical knowledge, product knowledge, and practical skills. International Travel & Operational Flexibility Travel internationally to customer locations for installations, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and service activities. Adapt to changing project circumstances and technical priorities while maintaining CEAD’s safety and quality standards. Be available for international assignments that may vary in duration depending on the scope and complexity of the installation or service activity.

We are looking for someone with a strong technical mindset who enjoys working hands-on with advanced machinery and solving technical challenges. HBO+ level of education and technical thinking, with a strong technical affinity and background. A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in assembly, production, or a related technical field. Familiarity with a wide range of assembly tools. Experience working with large equipment, or the willingness to learn.Enthusiasm for high-tech machinery and problem-solving. A service- and quality-oriented mindset, with a proactive approach to challenges. Fluency in both Dutch and English, spoken and written. A flexible mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment. Willingness to travel for installations and service work.
