As a Production Engineer at CEAD, you will contribute directly to the assembly, integration, testing, and preparation of our large-scale additive manufacturing systems. Working from our production facility in Delft, you will turn technical designs into fully functioning machines. You will work closely with colleagues from Production, Engineering, Work Preparation, Logistics, Project Engineering, and Field Service to ensure our systems are assembled safely, accurately, and to the required quality standards. Depending on your experience and technical capabilities, your responsibilities can range from the assembly and testing of components and modules to taking ownership of complete machine builds, troubleshooting, commissioning, and continuous improvement activities. Key Focus: Assembly / Testing / System Integration / Troubleshooting / Commissioning / Process Improvement Department : Production Level: Junior / Medior / Senior Time Commitment : Fulltime Location : Delft Your Key Activities: Production & Assembly Assembles electro-mechanical components, modules, subassemblies, and systems according to technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications. Performs assembly activities safely, accurately, and efficiently while adhering to established quality standards. Verifies the quality and completeness of assembled components and systems. Identifies, reports, and where appropriate resolves deviations, defects, or technical issues during assembly activities. Maintains a clean, organized, and professional working environment. System Integration & Testing Supports and/or performs the integration of modules and complete 3D printing systems. Executes functional testing and system verification activities. Supports and/or performs Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and commissioning activities. Documents test results, observations, and technical findings. Takes ownership of assigned assemblies and systems to ensure readiness for handover. Troubleshooting & Commissioning Assists with and/or independently performs commissioning and startup activities of printing systems, depending on experience and demonstrated competencies. Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and operational issues. Supports root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions. Collaborates with Engineering, Production, and Field Service to resolve technical challenges effectively. Logistics & System Preparation Prepares components, assemblies, and systems for shipment, transport, installation, or commissioning Supports packaging, handling, and preservation activities according to quality and safety requirements. Ensures tools, materials, work orders, and workspaces are properly organized and maintained. Continuous Improvement Contributes ideas to improve production processes, efficiency, safety, and quality. Provides feedback on work instructions, assembly procedures, and technical documentation. Supports standardization and process optimization initiatives. Actively participates in improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives. Continuously develops technical knowledge, product knowledge, and practical skills. Collaboration & Communication Collaborates effectively with Production, Logistics, Engineering, Work Preparation, Project Engineering, and Field Service. Communicates technical issues, progress clearly within the team. Contributes to a positive, professional, and team-oriented working environment. Communicates identified risks, and improvement opportunities clearly when knowledge and experience allow.
What you'll bring
MBO+ level of working and thinking in a technical discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical field. Hands-on technical mindset and a genuine interest in machine building and innovative technologies. Experience working with a range of assembly tools and hand tools. Affinity with electro-mechanical systems and technical production environments. Able to read and work with technical drawings, digital work instructions, and technical documentation. Works safely, responsibly, and accurately, with strong attention to detail.Takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. Able to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and technical challenges. Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Fluent in Dutch and/or English. Living within commuting distance of Delft Experience with large-scale machinery, industrial equipment, automation systems, machine building, testing, troubleshooting, system integration, or commissioning is considered an advantage. For candidates with more experience, we are looking for the ability to take greater technical ownership of complete systems and work packages, independently analyse and resolve technical issues, and support less experienced colleagues in their technical development.
