Financial Controller

The Financial Controller we are looking for will preferably be based in Ukraine and will be part of the Ukrainian Finance Team, working alongside local Chief Bookkeepers, Bookkeepers, Accountants, and Economists. You will work closely on a day-to-day basis with our Controller Ukraine, who is based in the Netherlands, and will report to the CFO, who is also based in Amsterdam. Our entities have their own local finance experts. Together with the finance professionals at the holding company level, they make up the Finance Team of about 35 people, led by our CFO.

Preparation of the company’s annual budget, forecasts, and regular updates to financial plans Monitoring budget performance, analyzing variances between actual and planned results, and preparing explanations Preparation and review of monthly reports for the holding company Analysis of financial results, revenues, costs, cost of sales, profitability, and margins Preparation of financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to support management decision-making Preparation of annual financial statements and information required for the audit process Verification of the accurate recording of financial transactions and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations Cooperation with external auditors, accountants, and consultants on financial and tax matters Oversight of VAT and Other Tax-Related Matters Participation in the improvement of management accounting, financial processes, procedures, and internal controls Ensuring transparency of financial information for management and other stakeholders Participation in business projects, including the implementation and improvement of ERP systems, as well as the automation of financial processes Performing other financial and analytical tasks as requested by management Can oversee and prioritize the work of the local finance team Supports the local finance team and follows up on more complex questions. Candidate Profile Did you study Accountancy or Business Economics? At least 5 years of relevant work experience gained in business or in the audit practice at an auditing firm. Process thinker A practical approach, strong communication skills, and a proactive, no-nonsense mindset Accurate, strong analytical skills, independent, team player Willing to travel for work A decisive person who isn't afraid to approach others and who can handle resistance Good IT skills, including advanced knowledge of MS Excel and experience with 1C / BAS; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O is preferred. Fluent in Ukrainian and English
