Production Manager

Antwerp Stone Terminal a leading production and distribution facility in the Port of Antwerp. We specialize in aggregates, fillers, and granulates for applications in the construction, road, and rail infrastructure sectors. Thanks to our extensive storage and production capacity, we deliver just-in-time via water transport to customers in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and beyond. Your Role as Production Manager As Production Manager, you have ultimate responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our terminal. You report directly to the Plant Manager in the Netherlands and serve as the key liaison between your team and the various stakeholders on site. You lead a team that currently consists of 14 employees, with plans for growth in the near future. What will you do? In this broad and challenging role, you will combine operational leadership with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and team development: You lead the team and create a safe, healthy, and motivating work environment You manage the site with due care, focusing on efficiency and sustainability You'll spend about 50% of your time in the office and 50% on the job site You will monitor production capacity, scheduling, and product quality You will develop the production and staffing schedules and coordinate them with internal stakeholders You will coordinate the maintenance of systems, machinery, and rolling stock You ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and certification standards You regularly organize and lead toolbox meetings together with a colleague from Amsterdam You maintain close contact with local businesses and external partners You will provide support in dealing with local governments and agencies in Belgium You are involved in recruitment, onboarding, and tracking employee absences You will be responsible for operational purchasing, cost control, and inventory management You are a visible and hands-on leader on the job site Who are we looking for? You are a natural leader with a practical mindset and a strong sense of responsibility: Technical secondary education (preferably in electromechanics, construction, or logistics) or equivalent experience At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or terminal environment Demonstrable leadership experience In-depth knowledge of safety, environmental, and maintenance processes Strong organizational and communication skills A no-nonsense mindset and a solution-oriented approach You work independently, are reliable, and have a structured approach What can you expect from us?
